I was there, standing at the fence on the downhill roller section back toward the gate. Changed everything. The fact RC beat JS and stayed healthy is ridiculous. JS was the FMOTP, hands down.
Watching everyone hurt before, during and after just puts a stamp on it. Brutal sport, SX.

It will take a lot for someone to do speed wise what JS did. Don't know if I will see it in my lifetime.
Cant believe it was 16 years ago, many young riders may not know. Of course now kids are scrubbing, vertical jump faces are yawners. But, the best in the world are still crashing their brains out. That's kind of a post Y2K thing isn't it, the severity of it?
