Hope he keeps doing these. Surprised he thought Barcias pass was worse than Marvs but the king has spoken I’m not going to argue with him.



update: looks like Feld had it pulled. Lame. Let the man break it down for us!

I got to watch it before it was pulled, hopefully they chop it up and reupload it.

I agree that Marvin probably had zero intent on taking Malcolm out. That said, if you remove everyone's names and just go by the physical pass attempts, no way was the Barcia move worse than Marvin's.

Yeah the difference to me was just the bike positioning. Barcia was parallel to JA the entire corner. Marv almost clipped the inside tuff block to get in front of Mookies front tire.

What's the easiest way to use clips from sources such as Feld without infringement? Is it impossible without outright purchasing usage rights?

I think if they zoomed in a bit so it’s not a straight broadcast rip and also green screened stew in front of the race in the corner so it’s his own content and clearly a reaction video it would fall under Fair Use for YouTube.

When I made that video of James hitting whoops for an hour, it gave me the option on youtube to use the copyrighted content but give any ad earnings to the owner of the footage, or FELD. Or I could let youtube automatically edit out any owned content and publish the video after they took out what was claimed. I opted to have them take out content and they took out about 20 minutes of footage from that video.

He said they had no sponsors yet, so I found the commercials for Monster Energy Supercross in his show a bit strange as well. Now I'm wondering if they were trying to get on Feld's good side knowing they would be pushing the envelope with this content.

How much race coverage did he even show in order to get the boot? This all seems ridiculous.

This will go about as well as them making prior supercross seasons available for streaming... It's fucking baffling how backwards Feld's attitude is toward YouTube and general content availability.

Yeah if they offered something competitive then I wouldn’t mind the constant governing of their product, but they don’t fill the void that fans are trying to do not to mention James Stewart who made Supercross what it is.

I did notice they actually mentioned motocross on the last SX broadcast, so I guess they loosened the policy of blacking out any mention of the outdoors.

It’s a shame because the content he made originally clearly followed the fair-use guidelines. Unfortunately, giant media companies can easily request a global take down of a video without any evidence and it will take days to weeks to deal with YouTube on why it shouldn’t have been taken down in the first place and to get it relisted. Often times it’s just easier to edit out the content than to deal with the head ache so you can still deliver time-sensitive content but it’s still ridiculous and I hate that YouTube still sucks as bad as it does on certain things considering how great it is at others.

Great to see Stew appearing so relaxed and enjoying himself.
Impressed by his unbiased review, especially his take on his bro vs Marv.

Also sounds like he’s talking regularly with Reedy and Ricky. Chanceability they’re going to be on the PULP Show #500 or something else soon? I hope so!

When things start really heating up, these reviews should be good!

Here’s the problem: Feld is not allowed to have that content removed. James’ video very clearly falls under US 17 code § 107, otherwise know as the law of “fair use”. Providing commentary over copyrighted material, so long as said material is not shown in its entirety, is protected under the law.
