How bad was yours, and how long were you off the bike?

Thanks,
KC

1980 or so at Seattle International Rockeries (SIR) night racing Off the start from the left side with the first turn going to the right, hit a big ass fkn rock with my left foot. Rode the race as the foot went numb! Got back to the truck and had by buddy grab the bike as I stepped off and fell to the ground.

Turned out that I had two broke metatarsal bones. Soft cast and home. The next evening I had two episodes of extreme pain in my chest. One lasted and hour and the other about 30m. It passed and I went to bed.

Next morning the misses scolded me into calling a doctor. I called one and he had me immediately into the Hospital and Nuclear Medicine. After that I went to his office where he greeted me and told be that I was 1 in 100,000 or more twice!

I had just passed two blood clots up from my foot through my heart and into my lungs! He said the other 200,000 or more in two separate groups died.

Was back on the bike in 6 weeks.

He was wearing Alpinestars Tech 10’s.
There was a weird reddish mark in the dirt, wish I would have taken a picture of the ground. Cased a triple then got ejected, not sure which impact was the culprit.

I broke all five about 15 years ago when the legs of a concrete bench dropped on my bare foot.

I don't remember how long I was out for but it felt like a decent amount of time... walking was easy and came quick but any impact stuff was out for a few months. All said and done the flexibility in my foot (toes) has gotten more and more limited in the years since but hasn't prevented me from doing anything I've wanted to do.

I broke four when I was 16. I believe I was off the bike for about seven weeks. I want to say it was in a cast for about five weeks. The foot wasn’t really the issue, but my ankle was the problem after the cast came off. I hope he heals up well and fast!

I broke 4 when I was 16 or so. Had surgery and pins was wearing cheap fox boots. My foot is still smaller due to growth plates but doesn't really bother me. Honestly don't remember how long I was off the bike though was a blur.

I broke first four along with four toes and fractured my tibia in 2013. I had my first fused and pin stuck in second along with a bone graph. Took about ten weeks to heal. I had to use a bone stimulator to help it heal.

Thanks to all who have taken their time to answer.
Hoping my boy is the exception. He has a follow up visit on Friday.

Broke some in a car accident. 6 weeks in a walking boot and crutches for first few weeks. They healed pretty quickly and don't cause me any grieve 8 years later. Wasn't doing any moto at the time so can't give you a time off bike but 6 - 8 weeks seems about good to go. Every injury is different but.
