Broc Tickle to Fill in for Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Racing Team’s Aaron Plessinger
The Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Racing Team has signed Broc Tickle for the 2020 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross season to fill in for Aaron Plessinger who continues to focus on his return to full fitness after a training injury last week.

Plessinger dislocated his wrist while training for the upcoming Outdoor season last Tuesday, July 14, at Fox Raceway in Pala, California. The 2018 250MX Pro Motocross Champion underwent surgery to repair it and quickly began the rehab process, but unfortunately the timeline for recovery could take 12 weeks.

Tickle is eager to make his debut aboard the factory-prepped Yamaha YZ450F at the season opener at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch on August 15. The 2011 250SX West Champion brings a lot of experience to the effort and is ready to get rolling with his new team to get some top results in the Outdoor season.

After being delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross schedule is action packed with nine rounds starting with the season opener in mid-August in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee and finishes in Pala, California on October 10.

Jim Roach – Yamaha Racing Department Manager for YMUS
“Unfortunately, Aaron was injured last week just as we were ramping up for the start of the motocross season. We are excited to have someone with Broc’s experience on the Monster Energy Yamaha Factory team and are looking forward to getting the Pro Motocross season started!”

Broc Tickle – Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Racing Team
“I’m super excited about this opportunity and grateful to be a part of the Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Racing Team for the outdoor season that starts up here in a couple weeks. For myself, I’m just really looking forward to it. It’s a great opportunity, and a good group of people around me. We’ll start off at Loretta’s and build from there.”

It’s gonna be ugly if he beats Barcia!

Good for Broc. The dude just needs a few good races under his belt and hopefully he can grab a full-season factory ride for next year.

Why? Not that I think it will happen. Barcia is still really good outdoors and I don't think Tickle is as fast.

Wait pros are riding Lorettas? Good for Broc but I feel like that Yamaha is broken. They would probably put up better results on the 250.

Riddle me this?

The interesting part of BT press release is why Jim Roach announced it. Shouldn't something from this level come from Keith McCarty (Yamaha's Racing Division Manager or Jim Perry (Monster Energy/Yamaha Factory Racing Team Manager)

Food for thought.

Jim Perry is no longer with Yamaha. Yamaha is in the middle of making big changes in upper management to the racing program. The rumor is Star possibly taking over. Or they still continue with Factory Yamaha and Star Racing Yamaha becoming part of the 450 class

theres no way he is 5th all day, he may get lucky with 1 5th the whole season, id say more 9-12 range.

Will big changes lead to new riders? Tickle replaces Barcia and Ferrandis replaces Plessinger. Plessinger goes to star on current contract. Star goes with Shane and plessinger on 450s. Yamaha fields 4 bikes and wins a ship next year.
Now someone stamp that.

You mean like a couple degrees forward with the head angle?

Just compare their outdoor stats. Tickle is not even close to Barcia.

Why would you move Ferrandis from Star Yamaha and Plessinger from Factory Yamaha and then switch them to the other team. Star Yamaha will have full factory support plus their own in house team (obviously they know what they are doing). Most likely it will be Ferrandis, Plessinger, Mcelrath, and possibly Craig on 450’s next year with two teams.

Tickle also didn't win a supercross this year. I think Barcia will be fine.

Best wishes Broc! I hope you have a great series.

Assuming what I’ve read here about the 450 is true, hopefully with those changes, they’ve got some new-found flexibility to find comfortable settings across the conditions they’ll see outoors. Maybe fewer rounds may make that easier.
