What if, What if the infield of the Bristol Motor Speedway became a supercross track. Maybe even a little section going up into the banking, it could be a massive track. Could it be something or not?

Ken Roczen, Eli Tomac, Cooper Webb and others such as Jett Lawrence only need a little more popularity to fill the house there..

It worked in Charlotte, It works in Daytona. It is going to work in Atlanta. So why not Bristol? I think there should be a whole series of nothing but tracks at speedways. Daytona, year in year out is the best SX on the circuit.

Bristol would be sick, but it's in the middle of nowhere (not sure if that means it wouldn't fill up, but I doubt it).

This was the first thing I thought of when I heard they were doing the dirt series races there this year. Would be cool, Bristol has a great vibe.

Well, it is full of dirt right now for the races they have coming up later this month.

It will be interesting to see how dirt on pavement will work out in March in NE tn. Weather is pretty iffy.

One of the worst blizzards to hit NE tn happened that same weekend about 30 years ago. About 14 inches. Ended up canceling a gncc that was held near greeneville, tn that same weekend.

Place definitely has enough parking, camping , and other amenities that would work great for moto.

Hell, they could limit it to 25% capacity and still have more than most stadiums have if they sell out.

Would have a good size track in there. But not sure if sx would fill the place like a nascar race used to

This is because of the pedigree of the track and history of SX at Daytona. I don't disagree with you, other than the fans are far away from the track and in person viewing is not as good as indoors unfortunately

Feld needs to do more races outside the traditional baseball or football stadiums. That would allow the track designers to actually start doing some new/different things with the tracks.

Cant wait to see Sprint cars and Super Late Models there. Honestly, if you could use the infield as well it would be awesome.

Larson and Kyle Busch are running late models, Joey Logano is in a modified. I have three day passes for the Outlaw show, hoping Larson or Christopher Bell jump in a sprint but not holding my breath.

Put the start gate on the start/finish line and make a giant sweeper through turns 1 and 2 before dropping into the infield for the SX track and the rest of the race. Just one epic sweeping bowl turn for the first corner.

We had some discussions with them after they announced the NASCAR dirt track was going to be on for 2021. The building would be more appropriate though for a supercross race, as it's just like a NFL field, only bigger. It will be cool to see how the dirt track car races go...

They don't want to pay for more dirt to improve the football stadium tracks, now you want them to pay to have enough dirt to fill a bigger area?

Maybe you missed it.

There are currently 2300 loads of dirt inside the walls of Bristol motor speedway.

That is between 3 and 4 times more than a sx race in a football stadium.

The dirt is there.

They are having a month of dirt based car races there this month including nascar monster cup and world of outlaws.

Bristol is hardly "in the middle of nowhere"

Look at what is in a 4 hour travel radius.

Atlanta, Charlotte, Raleigh, Nashville, Richmond, knoxville, Columbia, Greenville, Chattanooga and everything between.

Would be a great idea! I still think MXDN needs to happen at Daytona once! Come on Davey, make it happen!

I remember making a topic about this more than 15 years ago in the old ronronmx forum. Still think it's a good idea. Make it one of the later rounds in the schedule to get a better chance of favorable weather.

Besides Lakewood, Pala & Red Bud every outdoor is in BFE. I think they should run 80% of the “ outdoors “ in outdoor NASCAR facilities. New cities, better infrastructure, better hospitality, potential for night races, etc...

Daytona is such a cool event, I don’t see why other tracks can’t follow suit.

I would keep the bigger attended National tracks like a Red Bud and add events in new states with tracks closers to bigger cities.

Supercross at speedways makes sense but leave motocross out of it. Id much rather go to a track in bfe with huge elevation changes than a major metro with flat ground.

Bristol?

Shit why not Solder field or Green Bay in February? It would be about the same risk of weather...

Give the track workers from Dirt Wurx some credit, when was the last real mud race?? They are damn good at covering the track with plastic... Bristol should go for a month of Petrol with Midgets, Sprintcars, Late models, stocks, NASCAR and then re-use the dirt to build a supercross track to finish up the month.
