I actually know the owner of that bike through Instagram, we both have throwback 93 Yz's and have both painted some of the same helmet designs.

when did motocross bike design go from SoCal cool to Mad Max? I seriously don’t get the overwrought looks of modern bikes.

Just painted this mtb helmet for a friend who's a big McGrath fan. I love the old helmet designs; so much more fun than the generic ones everywhere today.

Jeremy McGrath (born November 19, 1971) is one of the most popular American Motocross/Supercross champions in the history of the sport, racking up 7 Supercross championships. He was most active in the 1990s earning the title the "King of Supercross." McGrath didn't start riding motocross until the age of 14 because he spent his younger years riding BMX. That experience helped him revolutionize the way supercross was ridden, employing a technique he learned in BMX allowing him to stay a foot or two lower over jumps by coming in with more speed then soaking up the landing into his body similar to the way you ride BMX. He won the 1994 125cc Motocross World Championship. Moore was inducted into the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame in 2017. In 1985, Moore won the A.M.A. 125cc Western Supercross title. He moved on to the F.I.M. world championships, finishing second to Donny Schmit in the 1990 125cc championship and second to Stefan Everts in the 1991 125cc championship. In 1992, he again finished second to Schmit, this time in the 250cc world championship. He moved back to the 125cc class, and in 1994, he won the world championship on a Yamaha. .
