Rumors in Europe (MotoVerte) are saying that Brian Strubart Moreau has an test with an AMA Test. Does Mitch take this gamble, or do we need to look elsewhere (JGR Suzuki, KTM, ...?) Lots of the line-ups are already full. Or does he signs a contract like Christophe Pourcel back in the time, where we see Brian ride in MX2 class for 2020 at official/semi-official team and then joins the AMA team in 2021?

Just a wild insinuation: Jacky Martens Suzuki in 2020 and Joe Gibbs Racing in 2021?

What was Pourcels contract ? Did he do a few west coast rounds then back to GPS or win the GP title then go ?

Last year I would have agreed that he might be worth a gamble for some US teams.
But he has shown nothing this year. He was hurt as well, but in GPs he had like 2 top 10 moto finishes only.

I'd be very surprised if he ended up at PC (maybe in the future, but not now).

He rode 3 west coast rounds in 2007 after he became world champion. He was doing great with one second place and a win that he got signed by Mitch Payton for 2008. But first he needed to go race the 2007 world championship.

You should try not to use all 3 names of people in your posts. That is usually how serial killers are referred to......

Not much, he is a rookie this season racing for Bud Kawasaki and he's 23th in the world championship MX2. Best result: 10th in the second heat of the French Grand Prix. Last year he finished 7th in the EMX250, showing flashes of brilliancy. But I think it would be crazy to go to the USA with so little results to show.

Who the fuck is brain striptease mozart?
Some rather gifted french kid who's much slower for now than Pourcel was when he came to the US.

The kid sure might need a change of scenery because his results sure isn't living up to the hype he had coming up.

Also seems to good at supercross so I don't see why it isn't a great idea.

His hype is dying off. Like Ray_MXS says, he needs to change something.

The talent and speed is obvious but he is totally incapable of doing anything in the MX2 class once the gate drops on Sunday.

Edit: I guess it's only fair to mention that he got hurt at round 1 but you have to deal with stuff like that on the highest level.

So far he makes me think he is a bit like Ferrandis when he was still a teenager (I think he is 17 or 18). Dreaming of the US and loving SX, not yet consistent, tries too hard (crashes quite often, if he takes a bad start he rush to get back to good positions, but also if he takes a good start he is not scared to over ride until a crash to fight with faster riders), so not yet great results, but in term of strenght, he is probably the most determined french riders coming up, from what I heard he is boiling and crazy determined, so I think he will make it at some point, and he is coached by Bruno Losito who managed Musquin up until he took the mx2 championship lead and left to ktm.

So far in term of raw results I am also a bit disappointed, as a rookie I was seeing him around top 12, but I won't be surprised at all next year if he is a consistent top 5. That is why if he has a shot in the US, why not, but for sure he will have a better pedigree next year.

He should do pretty good this weekend. I think this track suits him perfectly. If he gets good starts he should definitely be able to get 2 top10

He is sure fast but cant keep in in two wheel on sundays. He isnt par to Pourcel yet but with good coaching will make great results in USA also.

I think he is exciting to follow. He is kind of oldschool. He doesn’t enjoy loosing and he certainly isn’t smiling everwhere on Instagram, quite the opposite. A little bit lika a young Pichon in temper?

Yeah he is a great rider but I think about stories like: Brian Hsu, he went on a AMA Team hunt and found nothing and now his career is done, also because of injuries he got behind, but ... Idem with Max Anstie he didn't race any Grand Prix's but he wanted to get racing the AMA's at 16, before the age limit would go up to 18, so he signed that contract with KTM amateur time and then he got some AMA teams, came back to Europe but he never got to that level he got on that 85cc bike.

He’s also EMX125 champ from 2017. Finished 4th at MEC last year in the amateur class. Talented and fast when he keeps it on two wheels and he can ride sx. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him give some West Coast rounds a go next year.

It's his first year in the GP's. Yes he has a lot of crashes, but you don't show those flashes of speed by accident. I think he needs someone that can make him steady with the speed he has. Remember he was a great rider in the EMX125 as well.

I think working with Tortelli, Vimond, Demaria, won't do him harm to be consistent and he's a great rider because HRC wanted to sign him as replacement for Vlaanderen in the MX2. Dunno if JM Bayle is still HRC mentor but he could help that kid out too. But working on yourself and recovering from bad weekends seems easier when you're home with mam, dad, french speaking team, french speaking trainer in your home town then when you're in the USA.

Just for information: Brian Moreau to KTM TLD is a signed deal for 2020 ! He will train with Baker and Musquin and will live with either one of them the first few months.

All the infos confirmed by him.

Looking forward to see what he can do ! The kid has ton of talent and speed but must find consistency.
