Luongo continues to blow through another promoter....one has to wonder why the GP calendar seems to have cancellations year in and year out....And the jungle drums are saying this won't be the only cancellation this year....

What? Is this a common thing? I find that crazy given that never happens over here. Yes, we might lose a track here and there, but they don't just cancel right before the season.

I wouldn't say never as we have had our share of track changes but not for "financial reasons" which in Luongo's language means "can't pay the fee"

It says there will be a gp in Brazil just at another venue would be good to have 2 rounds in the US if they don't find a venue

Government subsidized races are about all G.L. is going to get for his asking price. Bud is not paying full price, which is why there is even a G.P. here...

If Mr. L wants to capitalize on the U.S. market...he should make it happen...

Would Luongo have tried to use the same business model had he gotten control of the AMA Nationals ?

I like to be "positive"; so, I can't even think that way.

What we have here, in the states, is a series that knows who the fans are.
A series run by a guy that's probably THE Biggest Moto Fan...EVER.
A series owned by a Family who's Patriarch & Matriarch truly care (& have always cared) about "sport" &, most importantly, regular people.

I'm very grateful for Big Dave & Rita...and their kids.

They are why our Nationals are still the fun & affordable events that they are.

Don't count on it....Luongo just has to wait for the shit storm over it to cool a little bit before the cancellation is announced

No, actually, as I recall...virtually ALL the Enduro/CC type events where run as "Amateur" events and NOT PRO events...pretty sure it was an AMA thing...also, pretty sure they were "district events" in the beginning, too...?

A question: WHO created The Pro Class at the GNCCs and The PURSE?

I can't argue with any of these ideas...

Just having a GP in the East & West would simply be AWESOME.

I hope GL has his thinking cap on.

I think you might be uninformed. A good friend of mine used to race the GNCC series as a pro. What actually happened is DC did an interview relating to MX where he spoke of the "poor under payed privateer" (which I totally agree with btw). I'm not sure what year this was but I'll find out. At that point all the GNCC pro's started speaking up because if you were running a 3 year old bike and won a GNCC overall (which aint happening) you received $00.00. The only payout at that point was factory contingency.
