aaand boom goes the dynamite

Way, way back in 1986, the scene is the kingdome. Riding 125A class against the likes of lowell thompson and Larry Ward.
With nary but a couple practice laps young me, without fear, and not even knowing the track set sail to stardom. On lap 1 I clipped the top of a double entering a corner and promptly launched off the berm. An unsuspecting photog was grazed in the head while the bike landed 3/4 of the way up the wall below the stand and crashed to the concrete a mangled mess.
I was unhurt but defeated.. I did apologize to the photog tho... he was leaking pretty good from the forehead when I left.

He didn't even hit the ground; he launched straight to heaven. RIP

At the AX series I race they have cattle gates on the back sides of the berms to stop people. This weekend some goon lost it in the whoops, plowed the gate down (bent it like a taco), and hit a wall.

Just makes it more impressive that the nets stop the fastest in the world.

I don't want to make fun of the guy's probable injuries, but the comments are great:

"Was that from SX Futures? If so, I think that answered his question."

I was there when Georke did that same thing. Where were the nets?
