Bought myself a new dirt cycles

Edited Date/Time 8/23/2018 9:01am
After being on multiple different 450s over the last 7-8 years, from Honda to Suzuki to Ktm and back to Honda again. I felt something was missing.. the fun of riding and racing wasn't the same.
So I went out and got myself a 2018 KTM 250sx Smile

I rode a friends one a few weeks back and I was convinced.
Took the new bike out for a 'run in' ride on the weekend and after about 30min of trying to take it easy on the new girl I couldn't help but crack the throttle open! What a machine. Love the bike, everything about it is awesome.
And yes, even the AER forks are good! The bike has plenty of power and torque and handles like a dream. So happy with my decision.

Apologies if I'm rambling but I'm stoked on this bike.

Nice one.
I m about to pull the trigger on a 2 stroke after I rode a mates one last week end.
Had never ridden one before and was blown away by the difference and the lightness of it.

When I was looking at your photos I thought that the scenery looked very much like oz then realised you are in oz.
Where about you in mate?
Looks like a nice track

Same here. I rode a friends 2018 250SX, and now I'm ready to buy one. It was a blast. I felt like it was kind of a 3 stroke. So torquey yet still punchy like a 2 stroke.

Yeah mate do it! Best purchase I've made in a long time.
The track is called Larbert MX, located in Braidwood NSW. It's a really good track, probably my favourite. We have had bugger all rain as you know so its been sup-par lately as its a sand track.
But yeah anyway sick track, and amazing bike!

I know what you mean, the bike really easily pulls 3rd out of some of the tighter corners.
Only thing I did find lacking was top end but that was because I'm so used to the 450 power and my 18 cry had plenty of mid-top.
If you're looking for a fun and fast bike I would go with the 250sx for sure!

Slowly but surely the 4-stroke ruffie is wearing off and people are coming back to their senses.

You buy a bike that , you deserve to ramble all you want too! I know a lot of guy's are set in their own way's , and never really try anything beside's what they are used too. After about 15 years on 450's , I was craving to ride something else , something different. Going back to the 2 stroke's was exactly what I needed to make it interesting again. I've had so much fun on my old 06' RM 250 , and my Husky 125 these past few years , and it's hard to explain it to my friend's that don't ride them. I just say " You're missing out! "

Congrat's on the new steed my man!

That’s why I have a 250 and 450... depending on how I’m feeling I can ride whatever I want!

Congrats on the new Bike... I’ve been thinking about maybe getting a Husky 250 so I can try one of the new ones out

Contemplating that myself Barron. Going back and forth in my head....KX450? , TC250? , FC250?......can't make up my damn mind. The thing is , I've had so much fun on the 2 stroke's , that I may just say screw it and stick with them. Damn TC 250's are sitting at a good price right now too!

Stick with the 2 stroke especially the new counterbalance one from ktm/husqvarna. I have a 2017 fc450 and after riding my brothers 2018 tx300 this last weekend I'm trading my bike in on a 2018 250 xc or sx. Something about 2 strokes that make riding more enjoyable.

Just did the same yesterday. I have 17 250sx that is a killer bike, found a 450 yesterday. So 2017 250sx and 450 for what ever a feel like. I'll be honest, there are days at the track I just don't feel like being on the pipe on my 250, thats what the 450 is for, click 3rd and ride laps at 75% for 30min motos. Well, thats the plan, I might ride the thing and "f this 4 stroke bs" Laughing

Also, the PWK carb and the STIC block suppose to be unreal, haven't tried it yet. Running a JD jetting kit, its not perfect but is jetting ever perfect? Vforce always a good thing too. The PC pipe works well.

Just swapped the 250 jug to the 300, haven't tried it out yet. Tons of stuff to tinker with, but out the box, the best all around MX bike IMO. Congrats dude.

About a year and a half ago I bought a 3 rail trailer and a 2004 CR250 for $600. Sold the trailer for $800 and put that and another $800-$900 into it. Sold it to a guy for his kid, his kid rode it one day and didn't like it, wanted a 4stk like all his buddy's. So 6 days after I sold it I bought it back ( I was regretting selling it) and I frickin love it !!!! I was going to buy a new Husky or KTM, b ut this thing is so much fun and for the money I have into it ..........cant beat it !

I built this puppy for $3,800
You cant beat the easiness of working on a 2 stroke nor the price for parts.
Nice KTM!
