I was at las Vegas in 2012 i think. It's pretty hectic after the race, meeting a taxi would not be that easy with 30000-40000 other people leaving the stadium at the same time.

I did what I always do, worried about getting to the strip/hotel when I needed to. Plan nothing.

We were walking out as all the cars were leaving the parking slowly, so I asked a young guy that had a few friends in his moto van if he could drop me and the missus at the strip for $20. He did, he even picked up two more guys on the way out of the parking lot.

On the short trip to the strip his girlfriend offered for us to come stay at their house in LA for a few days, said we could borrow there bicycles to get around, but we were flying back to Sweden the next day. I think she had a pretty good buzz going and wanted to share the love. Haha

I'm going to book a limo for a return as a surprise for my girlfriend as the supercross is more for me and I'd like to do something nice for her , I'm not worried about the cost . It's more times knowing what time to get picked up

My wife and I went in 2014 and booked a motel out near the stadium so we could walk. Found out later that there was busses or something similar to and from the strip. I think they left from MGM or somewhere like that?

Book Uber early in the day for the evening ride back to your hotel!!! I used Uber for the Monster Energy Cup last year from my hotel to the event. $15.00 - Did not book it for the ride back to my hotel. Got outside the Stadium, called Uber, they wanted $75.00 and it was an hour plus wait and getting longer.

By that time the bus lines were a friggen mile long as was the taxi! Made for a long night!

What ever you use - book it early and get a confirmation number and phone number!!

I have done it all when it comes to getting back to the strip. try to call taxis, limos, party van, rent a car (the best method) etc.
Fortunately a couple years ago they started chartering a shit load of buses that take you back to the strip for free.
The casinos figured out that they could pour people $$$ right in when they drop them of at the front door.

Excellent, you will love it , the strip is one crazy place.
Try and see the Hoover dam , i quite like hiring out a boat at lake mead for a couple of hours , the drive to the marina through the national park from the far end of Vegas is quite a sight as well .
Taxi every where on the strip, it all seems close, but isn't and you'll wear the souls of your feet out but will still be left wanting to see more.
Enjoy! I will be

Hopefully your limo charges for distance, not time,1 and has some drinks on ice in the back! It's a cluster getting out of there!

I've just always used the free charter buses back to my hotel on the strip.

Have fun!

Just remember Sam Boyd Stadium is pretty far to the East from the strip so you will need Transportation to and from the event. If I remember right there are free buses from the Palms Hotel and they pick up as well. If you don't go that route I would walk up the road from the stadium in either direction directly in front of the Stadium, they both head back to the freeway and call an Uber for a PU. If you stay close to the stadium you are going to be battling with everyone else trying to get a ride.
