I remember when I was a little kid my brother had a Blue KX 250. I'm thinking it came from the factory that way but not sure. Just wanted to know if anyone ever had one of them? I cant seem to find any pictures of them online anywhere. If I had to guess it was late 80s early 90s model.

My '89 had blue fork boots and a blue seat with pinkish / purple splash at the back. All green plastic though.

This the one your thinking of? For some reason I remember the whole bike being blue, shrouds, fenders, number plates.
Also I think it was a darker blue.

I wish I could dig up some old pictures of all his past rides, dude had some beautiful bikes.

96 had PURPLE rad shrouds, seat cover, and fork guards. One of the mags called it "a frog with a bruise" I had a new one in 96 and yes, it was fugly.

Of all the years I've owned Kawis (since about 89) there has never been a mainly blue version. They changed a ton over the years with accent colors which had some blue on them but still they've always been mainly green with the exception of the purple clad 96 model. At least from dealerships here in the states anyway. Maybe an overseas version???

I just sold my dad's old '96. Trust me, it's a big purple giant.

Yea I'm thinking it was definitely earlier than 96, maybe a 93. I'm going to go to my parents tonight and see if I can find some old pictures of it. Maybe he had plastics made?? But i didn't think companies were doing that in the early 90s. Idk though i could be wrong haha.

Yippers, that's it. They were kind of cool, though, even though it was a little too much purpley blue. They had fast motors though, for that year.

So i found some pictures last night of the bike I was thinking about!

I was around 8 years old when he had this bike, so I guess I was wrong about it coming from the factory that way haha.

Picture quality isn't the best but you get the idea.

That would be the best educated guess i would think.

Funny thing thought the seat cover looks like it's off a 1990.

Seat cover is from a 1993 also. Good call on the 250 swingarm decals
I had a '93 250 and a '92 125. Both were pieces of shit.

I used to race a guy who owned a '93. It wasn't much stock but after a good port job it was a running muther!

I believe it.
I wasted too much time and money on aftermarket shit trying to get my bike better. I would've been better off lowering a tooth or two on the rear sprocket and running it stock.

94 was the motor to have in the 125's for sure.
My 95 always seemed weaker and then the 96 was a dud, so I bought another 94 and no doubt it was faster....

Thanks for all the info on the bike guys. Doesn't seem to have been that great of a bike from what your saying but it probably turned some heads back in its day because of the color.

LOL. Yes, I had a 91, then 92, then 93. None of them were that great but the 93 was WAY better than the 92!

I actually liked my 1991 KX125 the best. I can't even tell you how many millions of laps I put in out at the ECDR track on those bikes. You've been there a few times haven't you......Wink

I had a 92 KX125. Bought the complete blue plastic kit for it but sold the bike before I ever put it on.
