Wow.

Sure, that's it. Blake has shitty throttle control.

Bwahahahahahahahahahahahaaa
He never lets off until he loops it. You can visibly see him roll out of the throttle when it stands up on him.

That's because they control the power with the clutch for starts!

You can also see that he has the clutch fully disengaged and full power is still going to the rear wheel...

Right, my point to TG was that their brains are programmed to not let off the throttle.

We are not talking normal clutchs here either, once you get free wheeling clutches and or recluce style clutches that are in some of these bikes and they have a problem then it wont matter if the clutch lever is in or out.

I've had hydraulic clutches act up on cars a few times and all that happens is the clutch will not disengage all the way....same as a front brake with air in it, so if the hydraulic system was failing the bike would have stalled or it would have been impossible to get into gear.

I feel like Blake grew 8 inches over the off season
You cant compare a car clutch to some of the clutch set ups in modern motocross bikes. I have seen recluse style clutches that when they get too hot they dont slip, they lock up and GO!! kind of like Baggets did.Wink

I had that with a factory Kawasaki once. Aluminium clutch plates. They'd get really hot going over the gate, expand, and engage the clutch regardless of what I did with the clutch lever.

Obviously his clutch was wonky but it still begs the question of why he didn't roll out of the throttle sooner.
By the time you know whats going on you are on youre ass,its a fraction of a second .even pros aint that fast.

If i remember correctly, Short dealt with a clutch issue at Unidilla (could have been another East Coast track) last year and couldn't finish the race. Off the top of my head I can't remember any other races where this has happened, but maybe it's a KTM Issue? Though the Factory Team hasn't admitted to any issues, so maybe it's just a BTO/RMATVMC issue from using a different style.

This is not meant to turn into a KTM bashing thread...the hamster wheel was just turning. Just my 2 cents.

Everyone saying he should have let off the throttle. If you practise race starts aren't you meant to feather the clutch instead of letting off? Or am I wrong.
If so I would think he's so programmed to finger blasting the clutch that he didn't think to let off.

Exactly, I bet it has been atleast a few years since Brake last looped out a bike lol. He probably was grabbing the clutch like WTF is going on?!? then BAM. Now his ass hurts.

That loop out was bad ass. Blake is a boss. More evidence that ktm is a overpriced piece of garbage. Even the factory bikes have unnecessary problems.

Clutch In=stop
Clutch Out=go

I would call this yet another KTM feature. Ready to Race.

Muscle memory maybe? They practice starts probably more then we normal joes spend riding. When the whole motoric movement has to change in a matter of seconds + being on the line where things HAVE to be done the chance your brain will be malfunctioning for a split second is gonna be quite probable.
