Any one of these beauties...

In 1995, I was 15 working part time after school as a cleaner, doing a paper round, pheasant beating and any other random manual labour on school holidays to save up enough cash to trade in my KX100 for a 125. I could earn about £30-40 a week from what I remember + £150-200 boost ups twice a year at Birthdays and Christmas...

I saved my ass off from 14-15, but I remember that feeling like a lifetime. I had to find an extra £1000. Believe it or not, I lucked into a free KX80 when I was 12 and bought all my own bikes as a kid, paid most of my track fees and it was me that persuaded my dad to drive me to the track. My family couldn't afford for one kid out of three to ride MX. I kind of forced myself into moto by will.

Saying that, due to the limited track time, to this day, I'm still shit! haha. But I fucking love this stuff. And my love of moto and lack of access to it, lead to more accessible sports, mountain biking and finally BMX which totally shaped my life, 'path' and career.

These were the brand new models of that year and I can't tell you how much it would have meant to me to get a hold of one of these models back then. I had posters of them all over my walls. In 1995, after a year of riding my KX100 in the 125 class, I finally had enough cash and ended up part exchanging a mint, reliable 1991 KX100 with a 93 RM125.

It was an un-reliable piece of shit though, ruined many a session, broke my heart and pretty much killed my interest and access to the sport. When I was 26 and working properly a few years later I treated my self to an 2004 RM125, which I still own.

When I see new motorcycles from the mid 90s it always reminds me of being a 14-15 year old desperate to get some bigger wheels. Pretty ironic I settled on the 20''. ha!

Rant over boys!
Enjoy your weekend!

You sound just like me man! Same type of deal and I came in at the same time thought those bikes were sweet.

The Yamaha Y Zinger. The local shop always had one in the front window. I would always anticipate driving by and seeing it when we were on out way to my grandparents. I was about 4. That bike started it all for me. I wanted to ride so bad but my mother would have non of it. Didn't get my first bike until I was 16.
After all these years I can still picture that bike in the window, and still want one.

That was the first thing we started on my cousin had one and wanted nothing to do with it. We rode the wheels off of it. I wish we had my brothers CR60 back too that one got stolen.

http://suter500.com/

You can buy one.

I liked a blokes letter into Performance Bikes recently, after they had done a multi page story on the Suter.

He worked out that , the Suter being about 80K Brit pounds, now that he's divorced / his kids are grown, he could 'downsize' his current 3 bedroom house / flat to a 2 bedroom, , with 50K Brit pounds in his hands from the profit, sell his now very desirable / easily sold RG500 for about 10K, sell his car for something like 10K, and just use his work van, and then get a loan that would involve him paying about 80 /180 brit pounds off for 2 years. The man has his priorities right, I reckon.

The Suter is to be used for the GP Stars series (that's Gardner on it) , as the old 500s are very precious / expensive to keep going. And, Ian Lougher (sp?) is contracted to race develop a Suter in the IOM, for the next few years. Should be good to see this year, if it comes to fruition.

I can help you with the "still want one". It needs to be dusted off, cleaned up and I am willing to sell it.

Want the 701 Enduro, just a 690 in white trim I suppose

Growing up, a kid in my boy scout troop had a Honda EZ90 Cub, and I thought it was just the coolest thing ever. This was right as I was getting into moto and before I had a bike of my own.

Fast forward 20 years, and I am now the proud owner of a 1991 and a 1994 Cub. It's impossible to ride these things and not get a grin on your face! 90cc 2stroke fully automatic. Just twist and go. They're quick too!!

^^^Gotta love this from the June 1990 cover of Dirt Bike Magazine hahaha

Anyone remember the track Yamaha built at Ponca to debut these for? I think it was the same year Yamaha brought the waverunners to Whitney for their debut.

The Old School SplitFire PC Bikes with the Chrome Plastics will always be an all time favorite!

Also at the turn of the century the All Red Painted FMF Factory Honda Team bringing back the Red Painted Bikes were a close second. Does anyone have any better pictures of the FMF Bikes I couldn't seem to find any.
