This POS!! Handled terribly, suspension sucked, and lightswitch power made me loose my confidence in riding MX. Thank goodness I rode my buddies RM Floater, went and bought one the next week and was bumped to Expert by the next year. This Honda was bad!!(but once you got rid of the dork front plate, it was a good looking scoot)
Reminded me of the promo videoSilly ....chuck sun deserved an oscar for this one LaughingLaughing
All three bikes were terrible in 81 but looked so space age when i first saw them turn up at the track......great days

Nope...got ya beat. 2004 RMZ250 (the first gen KX250F with yellow plastics). That bike ate parts like nobody's business. Handled great though
I know people had a lot of issues with these bikes, but I loved mine. I was about 220 lbs racing 125A and never had an issue other than constantly boiling coolant.

Same here. Worst part was I traded my beloved ‘96 CR in on the ‘97...

Oh dear!
I was only asking as I bought one back in 2016 and for one reason (excuse) or another have only done 20 minutes, but was going to dust it off and start riding occasionally .
Are the forks the only problem, is there an easy fix?

I had a 79 125 YZ. Loved it but didn't have it too long. Rode it a few weekends and traded it back for a 750 special for street. Loved it too. However, I never rode an RM except for a clapped out early 80s 250 which felt like a slow dog so I have nothing to base the comparison on.

I traded my 95 CR125 in on a 99 CR125, that motor was so slow and the 5-speed gearbox just didn't work for me. We changed to Yamaha the following season and never looked back.

Exploded front wheel, electrical issues which led to it randomly cutting out, fuel line recall, linkage bearings were shot at 30 hrs, suspension was terrible, wide radiators, and the bike felt completely roached after 30 hours. One of the forks went out while riding as well. I had the bike for 5 months and it spent 3 months at the shop waiting for recalls to go through. I’ve lost all trust in ktm.

Every KTM I’ve owned. ‘17 150SX, and ‘18 250XC KTM Kwality. Trash suspension. Trash fasteners. Leaky hydro clutch. Just feels janky compared to a Honda or Yamaha.

I sold one dirt bike one time, but then bought it back,. WHEW! That was a close one.
Haaa i have the same bike i an absolutely hate it, i just leave the kid carrier on it an ride them around with it, specialized fuse 27.5+ is the way to go almost as much fun as a dirt bike

2002 Suzuki JR80- the richest running bike in the world and no jets for it. Gah... I _amazingly_ found an FMF pipe system for it and that helped a LITTLE bit, but what a turd. Bought it for $800, sold it for $800, though.

Christ Almighty, that muffler on the YZ450 looks like it belongs on a Mack truck.

1988 KX125.

Everything that could break did along with everything else that shouldn't.

Complete and utter boat anchor I put so much $$$ into that POS...that bike hated me but I hated it more.

* Cracked engine mounts.
* Cracked frame
* Subframe bent from new.
* Cylinder coating flaked off.
* Replacement cylinder coating flaked off.
* Warped head x 2.
* 3 x broken power valves. The sub port ones, stems kept snapping.
* Rims made from cheese.
* Replaced 2 x bottom end bearings.
* Shitty shock linkage design had swingarm linkage seals eat into the swingarm itself meaning water gets in and insta rust soforever had the suspesion off to clean, re-grease, replace needle bearing.
* Piston after piston after piston with cracked skirts.

Been a fuck Kawasaki guy ever since and I remember that middle finger they gave me forever after with that shitbox they sold me where everything that could go wrong did. Pity we didnt have the consumer back then that we have today.

Love Yamaha but the bike would literally fall apart in front of me every single ride. Used bike problems I guess

'03 RM250. Hated the forks and I was a broke 18 year old that couldn't do anything about it. Made me miss my awesome handling '01 RM125 immediately.

2015 kx450f. Power way too abrupt off bottom then signed off early. Felt heavy as hell. Cornered like a dump truck. Zero confidence and zero fun on that bike. Arm pump city. I lost an entire year of riding because that thing was such a dump truck for me.

1981 CR125. It broke a lot, was heavy and wasn't near as fast as any other 125 in 81 (or in 1980 for that matter). The '83 CR125 that replaced it was night and day better.

1987 YZ250. It was a freakin' tank. Horrible suspension, and I could never get it jetted right. It put me on my head a lot! Of any bike I've owned I hate this one the most.

2001 YZ250F. I liked the bike when it ran. Countless times I'd stall the bike during a race and couldn't get the damn thing started.

2006 YZ450F. I had an 03 YZ450F that I liked better. I hated the way it handled.

2008 KTM 450SX. Worst suspenion ever, no matter how much money I threw at it. Could never make it work for my fat ass.
