Ok, 1st and 2nd place crash into each other one rider gets up first, jumps on a bike and hauls ass. The other rider gets up and looks at the bike and notices its not his. The other rider has jumped back on the wrong bike.
The riders finish 10 and 23. So how do you handle that?
They call MX and asked. Scored it where the rider finished.
But you not on your AMA registered frame. How does that work?
Strangest race ever.

A. First rider gets DQ, 2nd rider gets his finish
or
B. (if no rule exist for this situation) Riders get placed as they finished

Just my guess.

This was first moto, the kid who got 10th still has a good chance as he can up front in next two motos.

I still cannot believe that he wont get DQ when all said and done.

Why the DQ? Surely both bikes past tech inspection?

What if little Johnny had his bike break say in 2nd Moto but he was offered one for 3rd Moto are you saying he could not take up the offer? I would hope not cmon this is kids we are talking about.

Was one of the riders Mike Alessi? J/K!!!

Not sure how it should be scored but I do know the rider that got on the wrong bike should be checked for a concussion

For this race it was a Loretta Lynn regional so you have to give them the last 4 of the VIN for the bike you are racing and you have to race the same bike in all 3 motos.

First rider to take off should be DQ'ed and have to pay the other guy his entry fee x 10 for being that dumb.
There are 3 things on the bike that distinguishes your bike from all others, including the people who dont even ride your bike.

Even during the old WMGP ROC where everyone races the same exact same stock bike, that still holds true.

At a local race retired pro Larry Hooper on a 10 year old cr480 and Not a Shananigan Waisted Tim Phyllis came together in a berm dicing for the lead, there was a brief wrestling match before Super Hooper snagged the new model KX for at least another couple laps until his own CR blew through a shortened section and the wrestling was renewed. Both riders were back on their own mounts and scored appropriately.
That shit always got worked out...we didnt need no Stinking Referee.

All I know is I'd crash the hell out of the other guy's bike on purpose and ghost-ride it off the finish line jump!

I’d go with the Transponder data.

Rider, bike, transponder is connected. Switch one out during race and you are done (transponder stop working or lost is different thing).

Otherwise it could lead to situations where a factory rider hands over his working bike to another factory rider from same team but with the chance for a title win.
