Guy that's selling this bike says its a regular 16' 250 sxf but it has an orange frame? Just wondering if you guys have any idea what year this could be or if they made non factory edition's with orange frames.

2017 plastics, orange frame is a 2018 thing (16 & 17 had black/dark grey frames, this one could have been powdercoated). Only way to tell for sure would be with the VIN, and even then it could be an 18 frame if he had an issue with his old one (believe I've read about a handful of people having issues with the 16 frames cracking/snapping? Correct me if I'm wrong).

If you look at it in person, the '15 factory editions and the '16 KTM SXFs came with 4CS forks and 17-18 came with the air fork. That may be an easy way to tell

If you look at the top of the fork you can see the clicker is white so it probably is the aer forks from 17 and 18. If it were a 2016 with 4cs forks it would be red. Also the shock body is silver like in 17 and 18 where for the 16 and 16 fe it would be completely black. Same with the engine mounts. It has 17 plastics obviously and the orange frame would be consistent with an 18 but it looks kinda light which could be fading or a different shade from a diy project. The wheels have the excel logos which were only on the 16 and not 17 and 18. So my guess would be a 2018 with 17 plastics and 16 wheels. The 16 wheels had spoke problems so something to look out for, overall the 17 and 18 are better bikes though. Damn I really know too much worthless shit.

If I had to bet on it, I’d say it’s a ‘16 with ‘17 plastics and a powder coated frame.

Did you ask him about the orange frame ? Ask him about the forks as well... He’s obviously added a few things to it, I could see him powder coating the frame for looks, judging by what I see...

* Big gas tank
* hard parts seat
* FMF System
* PHDS bar mounts
* radiator hoses
* Pegs
* orange brake tip
* linkage
* Rekluse cover (clutch ?)
* TM Designs chain guide/ buffer
* dirt tricks sprocket
* handlebars

How many hours on it and how much is he asking ?

The 16s had the black shock body, they also didn't have the Traction control and map switch which it looks like this doesn't either (although very hard to see). I'd put my money on it being a 17 from the pic.

Also it looks like the front forks are sagging quiet so could be AERs with an issue.

Does it have a title? In my experience when the owner gets the year wrong or knows very little about the bike, they typically don't have a title.

There definitely is a lot of bling on it, he just dropped it to 4k just figured you guys could throw some extra knowledge at me before I go and check it out, he said around 20 hours. I'll see if I can get the vin number and look it up.

Hasn't said anything about a title and it doesn't have a sticker. He has a 2016 manual though think I'll just make the drive to check it out.

After seeing those pics, it has AER forks on it. He says he has a title, curious to see how this pans out.
If the title says 2016, then he’s changed out a few things on this bike, including the forks.

4-stoke ??
5 gallon tank ??

I’d proceed with caution, take someone with you to look at it. There are guys that know you’re bringing cash and they might be up to no good.
This is a 6 month old ad, I’d offer $3500, if it is in a 20 hour condition
