I was going to just link it to our site but that doesn't seem very personal.
I hope you don't mind me placing this here.
Anyway, get comfortable...

Well, it sure felt good to be back at the Nationals this past weekend! It was great to see everyone again and it was also nice not to have the stress of running the webcast too.
While everywhere north of Gopher Dunes was getting pounded by storms Saturday night, we managed to avoid it and only received a few minutes of light rain at the track.
I even brought my road bicycle because I know that more and more pro riders are taking their cross-training seriously. I spoke to at least 15 people who were into riding but it seems my bike just sat idly in the wagon for three days. Oh well, next time.

James Lissimore was shooting his usual 5000 photos this past weekend. I bet 4999 of them are perfect too. I hate him.

OTSFF Suzuki rider Heidi Cooke just hung out and watched on Sunday as it wasn't a Womens National round (this pic is from Saturday). Ste Julie is next weekend so we'll get to see the Cooke/Ross battle we've been waiting for!

Here's KTM Canada rider Eric Nye's mechanic Ryan Lockhart filming his 'little video.'
It was too bad they had such a tough weekend because it sucks seeing 'The Newf' in a pissy mood.

(Typing sound) "Hey Parker." "Yes Jared?" "Don't look to your right!" "Ok, I won't"

Uh ohhh, and a bum makes its first appearance!!!

Don't let this smile fool you. This kid is ALL BUSINESS on race day...and he must catch colds easily.

There were lots of fairly local Intermediate riders trying to make it into the action including these two chaps.
Unfortunately, #653 Mike Beaudin couldn't quite do it. He just smiled and said that he'll just have to work harder.

#29 Nahan Bles lined up for the MX2 class Sunday too. He got a 7-10 and because of the weird stuff that happened that put him in a very impressive 6th overall.

#194 Orange Motorsports KTM rider Richard Grey was the class of the Intermediate crowd. He was battling up near the front in both motos and logged 5-DNF. He crashed in the second moto and crossed the finish line without his helmet (automatic DNF). Don't let his 13th overall fool you; he has the speed. Oh, and thanks for the snacks but your dog hates me!

#961 Nicky Beatty was another rider going for it in the Pro class. He's always fun to aim your camera at.

He finished 17th with 13-18 motos. You should have seen how fast he was railing this berm! I swear his grip was only an inch from the sand at some points. I told Spikman to come point his camera at him and we weren't let down.

Ok, Crystal and Kelsey were less than impressed with the pic from Walton so...

The Stephens family was there helping out as usual. I had to rush my beer at their truck this weekend but it was delicious nonetheless. 8) Kyle is still aiming for Walton. As you can see, the finish line table was popping people up even higher than usual on Sunday.

#41 is Dylan Kaelin. He's still not 100% and Gopher Dunes is nowhere to be if you ain't! I'm sure he'll tell you he wasn't happy with where he finished but I bet we see him up higher next weekend.
8-12 gave him 11th.

South African Darryl Fitz-Gerald to a really hard fall and there's talk that he was out for a couple minutes. He said he wasn't completely sure where he was. He's going to miss a round or two.

Poor Eric Nye had a weekend to forget. His bike quit on him in the first moto and then he found himself at the back of the pack in the second with Teddy Maier. It was cool watching them both charge through toward the front the entire moto. He made it all the way up to 5th and salvaged 12th overall. It could have been worse.

You can just see how hard he's working here...and without goggles!

What about Spencer Knowles, you ask? Well the kid sure can pull a holeshot! He grabbed the first one and actually looked to be dropping the field until he went down. Here he is grabbing his Royal Distributing holeshot $$$.

He was also up at the front in the second moto but got tangled with #1 Teddy Maier here. Let's just say 37-28 is NOT where this kid belongs!

This, my friends, is my new favourite Julie. I don't care if her name is Sonny, she'll always be "the new red-headed Julie" to me. Grinning

KTM Canada's Kyle McGlynn quietly went about his business with a 10-6 5th place overall.

After a relaxing night of Bocci Ball, Blackfoot Direct Yamaha riders Jared and Parker Allison finished 10th and 14th respectively. Even their right arms are in the identical position!

Leading Edge Kawasaki rider Teddy Maier gave away a lot of points this weekend. Although his charge up to 4th in the second moto was impressive, he still only finished 8th overall with 16-4.

South African Royal Distributing KTM Canada rider Kerim Fitz-Gerald went 6-8 for a strange 4th overall.

Orange Motorsports KTM rider #17 Jeremy Medaglia looked great this weekend. He set the fastest time in qualifying. Here's a very proud team owner Siert Wieringa pointing this out to me. I cropped the pic like this so I didn't have to mention his frosted tips...oops!

He got off to a not-so-great start in the first moto and had to work his way up to a 4th. He went 4-2 for 2nd on the day.

Shawn Rife is taking over for Beats as the 'littlest guy out there' in #16's absence. The Leading Edge Kawasaki rider had the speed to win Sunday (as he proved in moto 1) but word is he re-injured his foot and may have to miss some racing.

His 1-DNF left him in 7th place.

I don't know who this is but she was hiding out behind the rigs when I found her.

#27 Kaven Benoit had a strong day. He grabbed the holeshot and led for a while. He was a consistent 3-3 3rd on the day.

Yamaha Red Bull Fox Blackfoot rider Tyler Medaglia has a nice points lead now heading into the latter half of the season.

The second moto was great to watch as the two Medaglia brothers eventually found each other at the front. Jeremy got right up behind him starting the last lap but had to roll the finish line to avoid a lapper and the race was over. Tyler rode to a 2-1 day for the overall.

I got a little too close to Bill Petro and felt nothing but shame. "My what a big lens you have, sir"

This is the other "New Julie" Grinning Oops, I didn't even catch her name. We'll sort that out at Ste Julie.

Here's JP interviewing Tyler for the French TSN.

Just minding her own business when 'SNAP,' a lens springs to life!

First the bad news in the MX1 class. #135 Cernics Kawasaki rider Josh Demuth took a hard fall in the first moto a was pretty dazed for a while. I didn't have the heart to snap a picture of his bloodied face (Bowker did though lol) but it was bad enough that he didn't start the second moto.

#31 Shraders rider Shawn Maffenbeier boldly called both holeshots before the first moto (jokingly). He had a strong first moto placing 9th but his 25th in moto 2 forced him to settle for 16th overall.

Another rider who's fun to take pics of is KTM Canada's Ryan Millar. He said he's waiting for himself to stop riding like a wimp and expects a lot more out of himself.

He's probably the most fluid MX1 rider on the track. He also had a strong first moto, getting 8th, but his 34th in the second killed his day.

Ok, the girls in the shop were feeling a bit saucy when they handed out the Gopher Track Passes. I'll let you try to figure out whose this one is. There goes our G Rating! OSmile

Kait Schuster was nice enough to open her doors to a few of us dummies that needed a place to stay. Thanks a lot Kait. We'll get out for that ride one of these days...

The view down KTM Alley. Yes, I told Ryan his red T clashes with the orange. #-o

I don't think this guy #3 OTSFF Suzuki rider Bobby Kiniry is very happy with the way his weekend went.
He would have logged a 5-5 score but a Red Cross flag infraction bumped him down to 15th in the first moto. I think that was where #62 Justin Patjas went down on the tree-line table. He ended up 10th as a result.

I think this look sums up Kornel Nemeth's feelings after also being docked 10 positions at the same place.
His infraction resulted in 13-3 scores for 6th.

So I'm standing there watching this corner thinking, "Hmm, is he gonna try to grab that inside line?"

Yes he is.

And this is how #8 Gopher Dunes rider Liam O'Farrell hurt his ankle a bit.

Oh, hello Dan Stenning. I see you've met Sonny.

Here's JSR hamming it up a little. Hey Jean, the ear socks on my Oakleys are getting a little ratty.

So here's the best part about #9 Machine Racing Honda rider Kyle Keast's first moto. He grabbed the $200 cheque for the holeshot, kept Facciotti honest and then ran out of gas on the last lap. Ouch! I actually saw him afterward and he took it on the chin like a pro, told me what happened, forced a smile, and went on as if nothing happened.

He wasn't about to let that happen twice so after making sure he had a good lead over third place, he pulled into the pits for the now-famous fuel stop. He went back out together with Nemeth who fell down handing second back over to Keast. Kyle's DNF-2 gave him 9th.

I think this is the same girl I took photo of at Walton, no?

Currently residing in the "Who? Wha" category is #620 Brad Nauditt. I know precisely ZERO about this guy but he was way up front and got a 6-13 8th overall. Well done!

Would you believe that after the chaos we caused in her restaurant the night before, she actually showed up to watch on Sunday?! Bravo!

Well would you look at that...another ho hum holeshot for #1 Colton Facciotti. No offense Colt but would you mind starting backward in Ste Julie? Yes, I'm kidding. Just enjoy watching him race locally while you can. Even the GOAT Ricky Carmichael said Colton should be down south. Spread the word!

Hey guys!

What can I say, I'm a sucker for a girl with a sleeve...sure, it could be 'of beer' or whatever. Grinning

Remember that 'Sweet River Baines' skit from SNL way back when? Well, here is our version of 'Sweet River.'

#2 Yamaha Red Bull Fox Blackfoot rider Dusty Klatt showed a ton of heart Sunday. After finishing second in the first moto, he went from the back of the pack to 4th in the second and snagged 2nd overall. Impressive.

Speaking of #2, would you believe some jackass actually STOLE the #1 plate that Derek made???!!! It was probably just some little stupid kid but who knows. If a parent sees a rather odd-looking #1 Pro Motocross plate on their kid's wall, perhaps you should ask a question or two...

Oh look, it's Sonny again.

The crowd seemed really big Sunday. I have no idea what the actual number was but the place looked amazing and full. The track changes, the crowds, the radio and tv advertising, RC, the bannering etc made the place look like a really bug deal was happening. It was cool.

I guess I should actually mention that Colton Facciotti went 1-1 for the overall, huh? I don't even know if he wiped his face before this pic. :!

"Coming to a town near you:"

As a guy who used to run a very popular website down south used to say, "People and signage...people and signage."

Sorry, Randy. Somehow you got cropped out of this one. Grinning

#221 Whitney Locken raced to on Saturday and checked out the racing Sunday.

And this is Sam. She's from west of here.

Here's a good shot of Koster interviewing someone.

How could you NOT toss a prize to the little girl in the grey top?

Kuli working a crowd.

So then this guy shows up and does a cool ride day for ten lucky West 49 contest winners.
Yup, none other that the GOAT himself Ricky Carmichael hung out all day Sunday before the lessons on Monday.
He basically spent the morning trying not to get run over.

He was super cool about just hanging out for pictures and autographs.

Then he saw a guy he really wanted his picture taken with.

He's also listed in a poll on the NASCAR website. Take a few seconds to cast your vote for him as the "Most Popular NASCAR Driver"...he'd do it for you!
http://www.nascar.com/news/features/2010.truck.mpd/index.html

Wow, I can't look at this screen for one more second. That's it for me.
See you at the races...

Ok, one more. Let's call this one "Caption Time" for fun.

What's a guy gotta do to get a photo or even a mention in the report. Podiums in MX1 and nadda, just trying to get a homie a little recognition is all. Great report otherwise.

Thanks for the comments everyone.

We'll be in Ste Julie Quebec this weekend.

I missed the first four rounds and don't know where I'll be past this coming weekend.

And 'Jake's Dad' I assume you're talking about Cernics Kawasaki rider #65 Troy Adams?

He went 3-7 for 3rd overall in the MX1 class. I have to admit, I didn't really see much of what he did on the track so I couldn't tell much of a story.

Here are a couple pics of him from Sunday. Hope that helps...

Troy was looking good this weekend, but he ended up going down in the second moto. Cool to see that he still got on the podium, though. Colton was untouchable, and Klatts ride from 22nd or so to 4th was impressive.

Thats what happens when you got a McDonalds and a Tim Horton donut shop on every corner. Those Monster girls must be flown in from down south.
