Whoop sections make or break riders. Lets share photos or experiences of the biggest whoop sections in recent SX memory. My vote goes to Houston 2010, the first few were massive! Followed by Daytona SX in 2006 (the whoops that ate up Pastrana) a close second.

On my best day and with no wind and with all the rest of those whoops leveled off, I could double the first two.

not sure if i can find any pics but there was a set of whoops in 2nd round Anaheim around 2006 or 2007 ish that was so stupid deep the slower dudes could not even roll through them without falling, was complete chaos.

When I raced Anaheim in 2002 they were huge and they had back to back ones. When I did the track walk I thought it was a joke because they were massive. In our privateer practice, which was first, nobody even went through them because they were so deep you couldn't even ride through them. It worked out to my advantage because I sucked at whoops and most everyone except the top guys were jumping through them. I'll never forget Stewart pinned into them on his 125 and by the last couple whoops having to jump because they couldn't keep the speed up. I think he ran into Gosselaar on the last lap while they were first and second through them and they both went down.

I raced San Diego SX in 1998, they weren't that tall, maybe 18" to 20", but they were sooooo steep that you couldn't roll them. If you messed up, you had to exit to the left or right and ride to the end of them. My buddy ripped his pipe off his 125 after he messed up and tried to roll them, they were like logs!

Tallon Volland was on a PC 125 that year, came out the very first lap of practice and wadded up, then about 5 seconds later Greg Schnell went over the bars. I was embarassed to ride through them in front of my buddies because they didnt' look so steep from the stands. Thankfully, they smoothed them out after 1st practice. It wasn't the height of them, it was that they were built almost verticle. Pretty stupid we all thought.

I raced Daytona in 2006 and in the day qualifiers the whoops were huge! The only way I got through them was to double through them. Stewart and Carmichael were having a hard time getting through them. When the night show started the track crew tamed them down a bit. Pastrana won my day qualifier and that's when he tried to back flip the finish line.....didn't make it though.
