TP199 is one of the most successful riders of all time, how is he a bust?
Well, duh. That 3-digit number is a dead giveaway.
Imagine his racing career if he’d been Travis Stanton. Ooof

Some whacko has downvoted Christina Hendricks, Samantha Fox, and this post. They have problems.

Donald McGourty, Turbo Reif. Also growing up racing district 23, I thought Brett Ohland would have been a solid privateer. Teddy Maier is another from that area I thought would have had a more successful American career. Those guys used to blow by me like I wasn't even moving.

I remember one time I was out with David Barrett and my cousin Troy at LACR and they whooped Bess badly and this was when Shane was turning pro. That one doesn't surprise me.

That said, Shane is an amazingly good dude, and I wish things would have been different for him.

Chris Heisser?

He was then married to his HS sweetheart, Heather Locklear....so that isn't a total bust.

Been thinking about a lot of guys that just appeared and disappeared since we have been watching so many old races during this time. Who do you guys think? Here are some guys that come to mind for me.

Austin Stroupe
Zack Bell
Nico Izzi
Travis Baker
Gannon Audette
Darryn Durham

Could you consider TP199 as a bust?

TP199 has two 125cc titles, granted one is from a regional SX series. Hard to be a bust with two No. 1 plates. He ultimately went on to become the world's most recognizable dirt bike rider and one of the most talented all-around riders to swing a leg over a bike (other claimants include Kurt Caselli, JMB and Wardy).

If anything he overachieved, even if his AMA racing career didn't yield much in the way of titles or heck, even full seasons. Plus he was competing in the thick of RC's reign. His ceiling as a racer would have been a way more famous Ezra Lusk.

This is a good one. One main event win IIRC. Still one bad dude. How does NM produce so many talented racers?
