Has anyone here used the Steelhorse Bewlbar system?

It's essentially a swing arm with a grease fitting, and claims to make greasing swing arm bearing a breeze for lazy people like me.

I would like to hear your good and bad experiences.

Astroturfing

Astroturfing is a sex act involving rubbing a shaved head on a partner's vagina or anus for pleasure.

I don’t have one personally yet but Wyatt is a good dude. I believe I just saw he received his patent for them. Lots of people locally have them. He also supports the moto community putting money back in and helping at local tracks. He is on here under barnett117

Super cool system/idea.

I'd love to see to licensed to the big manufacturers...

I really like the idea but does the grease fitting just grease the bearings or does it also grease the center of the pivot bolt? They usually start to seize where the bushings are in the cases so if this solves that problem I can see myself buying one. They are a little pricey tho.

It puts grease directly onto the needle bearings and mating pivot surface.

Solid idea!

The grease goes into the bolt, out of the bolt, around the bolt, through the bushing and into the bearings. Not too pricey when you consider for less than a set of graphics for an American made + American steel product you can keep your $8,500 bike handling like new! Smile

P.S. Not to mention saving the headache of replacing them....

Sounds cool but isnt the point to tear down, CLEAN, then grease and reassemble? You cant clean it if you dont take it apart.

Good point! The excess grease that gets purged around the cases stops contaminants from getting inside. Ride, wash, grease, repeat. SO you shouldn't need to clean it. the new grease does it so "you don't have toooooo" - Joe Dirt.

All I do is drill and tap the swing arm for a zerk or two and have for over 3 decades. I haven't had a swingarm off a bike yet in probably 20 years.
Give it a pump or two after every wash. I drilled and tapped the arm with it on the bike when new most times.

Good idea but unless you drill relief holes in the shaft part of the axle all your doing is greasing the inside of the axle.
How is the grease suppose to get where it needs to lube the pivot bearing area?

the grease does the cleaning. By pumping grease through it pushes out any debris that is in there. That is the beauty behind this system, it cleans the area and then also greases the area preventing you from having to take apart your bike.

But all the debris would still be in there?

You can buy a bunch of stickers for your bike or get a graphics kit.

Debris in your bearings? When I take mine apart the only thing that needs cleaned out is old grease. If you have debris in them you need new bearings... Maybe some of you are forgetting the seals?
