OK, Ok, in the 125 class with new rider Cody Barnes. None the less he won by 5 minutes on an "Enduro model" in a stacked class all the manufacturer's have put emphasis on. Mike Witkowski carded a 4th in the 250 Pro on a 2t after getting the holeshot. Not bad for a company that doesn't make a model that "qualifies for a shootout" Tongue

I had a 450RR Beta years ago. Worst bike I’ve ever owned (and I’ve owned a lot.) I would love to ride one of their 300s though. From what I’ve heard they have come a long way.

Not bad for such a small town that most don't know about! Proud of our local boys!

And 5th and 6th. Lucky I guess?

This weekend Steve Holcombe begins his defense of 3 consecutive E3 titles, and 2 EnduroGP titles. Hardly anyone on this side of the pond knows who he is. I'd like to see him come over for GNCC like the riders of the old days, Knight and Salminen and Watts (who made KTM what it is today), but I really don't think a 2t would get it done here at the highest level with Russell? Then again, it's not supposed to over there either. Beta makes a fine 4t if Beta decides to send him over. I'd imagine this next contract year might price Beta out of his services, kinda like Webb.

anyone that knows Cody, knows he will go much farther. He has just begun to shine. He like Chase grew up around here in IL racing many things. It's a blast to see these two riders do well and keep climbing the ladder to success.

The Factory team is running red this year in EnduroGP with Beta holding 1st and 2nd in the standings after round 1. Still white on the rear plates and fender, so it will likely come back for 2020, it seems they like to rotate it every few years for some time now. Red for me.

They will go back to red. Then in a few years back to white. It’s their pattern to go back-and-forth

The Factory in Italy was broken into last night, they got a bunch of 2t's, 125's, 200's, 250's and 300's. I guess it happens over there too.

"Alert: Thieves in beta house!!!

Looking for beta lovers,
That the beta went to steal, we already knew but not until this point! Yesterday unfortunately we had a bad awakening.
Our Warehouse in rignano has been broken and a lot of motorcycle has been stolen (RR 2 T 125/200/250/300 and xtrainer).
We recommend you the utmost attention: in case you are offered very cheap beta, write to support@betamotor.com immediately for a check on the suspicious vin (chassis number): Just Photograph the number number on the steering headstock. Please note that we do not just talk about complicity with a theft. We want to protect you for your own protection: the lot of stolen bikes was incomplete of some These bikes, in addition to not being able to be registered, can not work correctly
If you come in touch with a suspicious bike, us.
Thank you for your help!

That sucks! No one likes a thief.
I may be springing for a new 125rr. That is if I can become unattached to a few of my bikes. Thanks for posting Johnny.

I went to the Beta Ride Day in Fluvanna and rode these bikes:

I was REALLY interested in the 200 but the bike that stole my attention was the 125. I'm just a fun racer/rider and that thing was FUN!!! On my 2nd ride, I stopped at the bottom of "the hill"... a loose, rocky thing with 2 steps on the way up... clicked the bike in 2nd and motored right up it. Out on the flats, shifting gears under power would lift the front wheel easily. The 200 was great, too, but didn't have quite the flickability of the 125. I liked the Beta 125 RR so much that the next week I bought a NOS '18 KTM 150 XC-W. Smile And then spent the next 6 weeks getting the jetting right.... But riding the little Beta solidified the idea that I'd have lots of fun on a small 2S.

The 250 and 300 vibrated really bad and I think the 250 actually had some engine issues that day. The other big surprise for me was the 430 and then the 350. I don't really like big 4S, but the 430 was amazingly flickable and had, of course, torque for days. I think I rode the entire test course in 3rd gear. My son is a 125/150 rider, hates big 4S, and had an ear to ear grin after riding the 480. The 350 was really fun, too. Not as much torque, naturally, but I really liked the free-feeling motor. All of the 4S were super smooth and all the big 2S vibrated ferociously.

I didn't have any issues with the suspension on any of them but I'm not that critical of suspension. Same with the handling... felt great to me. Stable, turned well... no immediate issues.

1st time I've heard anyone mention the vibration. I rode them at Village Creek and they were fine, but I prefer the 4t's anyway, every time I hopped on a 2t I would blow through all the corners with no engine braking and less grip on hard pack. The RR-S models with the OC forks were more plush and cornered better, and the 500 was my pick of the day with the 390 being close due to the long stroke torque delivery. The Demo Tour is a big step up for Beta, with a 1/2 Million dollar investment. Yamaha is coming to town next month at Murphy's MX and I will be there.

You'll find my comment and videos here as well as others:

I guess I should ride both but I want the 125 more. Both bikes get good reviews.
If you need a guest Test rider look me up. Lol

The 125 lacks a bit of power compared to a Sherco or a KTM. The 200 cc gets a lot of bottom-end, it's almost incredible. I love small displacements, but the 200 is 100% more fun to ride than the 125 (we had the 2 bikes for this test to compare). Just my opinion, but the 125 engine needs more bottom, and more top-ends also...

That is not great news for me. I really wanted a 125 to match my 300RR.
I personally wanted the Sherco but that will be just another brand in my already mixed up stable. Lol
