How cool is it that FMF supplies the pipes? Not to mention they also supply the aftermarket pipes that KTM distributes through their parts program. Go Uncle Donnie!!

The House of Rignano sull'Arno comes onto the market with the new 2013 range of RR Enduro models. The most dramatic change that makes Betamotor catalog is the arrival of two stroke 250 and 300 cc. An important step for Beta, following the return of the Tuscany House at the Enduro category in 2004 and the introduction of the 4-stroke engine "made in Beta" in 2009. These new two-stroke engines are the result of a work that lasted more than 24 months, were all designed by Beta and have the ambitious goal of becoming the new benchmark in terms of technology, layout and performance of a 2-stroke Enduro. Available in 250cc and 300cc displacements are manufactured, assembled and tested in-house, to ensure their quality and performance.

RR ENDURO 250/300 2T
Then just start the new arrivals in Beta House. The motors declare themselves immediately as light and equipped with technical solutions of the latest generation, equipped with dispensing fluid and linear over which a peak power of reference.
The chassis of the RR Enduro 2T has a dedicated chassis with optimized geometry for the different characteristics of the bike compared to the version 4T. The suspension has a specific calibration and swingarm, wheels, brakes and bodywork is shared with the range 4T.

The bikes are characterized by a sincere behavior, are easy to drive thanks to extreme tractability of the engine and the total weight very low. Absolute performance are for reference and allow you to compete at the highest levels, benefiting from a proven chassis and advanced engine combined with a reliable, easy to use and at the same time generous and powerful.

The engine is available in 250cc and 300cc displacements, and presents measures characteristic bore and stroke of 66.4 x 72 mm and 72 x 72 mm, which represent the best compromise to get the correct inertia and then an engine with good torque. Casings are made by die-casting, to obtain lightness and stiffness simultaneously. Are processed entirely in-house to ensure quality and accuracy. The external covers are magnesium alloy, and allow to minimize the total weight of the engine. The drive shaft has broken down polyamide inserts for proper balance and eliminate the harmful volume in the sump pump. The solution allows to obtain the best balance between inertia and mass. The piston is forged in two segments and flows into a cylinder obtained by die-casting with the Nikasil treated barrel. L 'inclination is 90 ° to have a more compact engine and masses close to the center of gravity of the motorcycle. The geometry of the light has been the subject of a long process of design, analysis and fluid dynamics simulations, as well as a long set-up at the counter and on the bike. Furthermore the cylinder was equipped with resonator to improve delivery at low speeds and have an engine always ready and manageable even in the most demanding routes.

The head is monolithic with the geometry of the combustion chamber designed to obtain the best compromise between readiness to recall the gas and draw length. The electric starter motor is located under the engine, confirming a layout that from the beginning has taken into account the requirement. The exhaust valve is equipped with a system BPV (Beta Progressive Valve), with kinematic designed to have an opening progressive and independent of the main exhaust port and from the booster. This allows to have a greater linearity of response of the motor and the absence of holes in the torque curve, in addition to performance of maximum absolute value. The ability to manage the rpm at which the valve opens, allowing you to customize the behavior of the engine according to driving style and road conditions.

The carburetor is a Keihin PWK 36 installed, the highest quality for performance and ease of reference 's manual. The gearbox has six speeds, designed for reliability combined with ease in the grafts in all conditions of use. The muffler steel and aluminum silencer are made by the American FMF. The control and power are the Kokusan for absolute reliability.

The chassis is oriented on a chassis derived from the 4T but with specific geometry for maximum performance in terms of handling and stability. As of version 4T 2013, this frame is derived from the experience acquired models Factory and has the same lightness and strength. The wheels are very light with brake discs with a new profile, very strict with 6 points of attachment to the hub, made of high quality steel, mounted on lightweight hubs and rims with a dedicated profile, particularly resistant to stress and at the same time very light. The swing arm is realized with a technology which allows minimum thickness, and is the same versions of 4T. The fork Ø 48 mm Sachs has internal parts completely new springs and 4.2 K, even the shock is new and has dedicated calibration, spring K 4.8 and expansion tank increased to provide better control of the hydraulic part.

The fuel tank is completely new, redesigned to provide better weight centralization and therefore stability when changing direction of motion. E 'in the lower area of the cap for better ergonomics and has a capacity of 8 liters. Moreover its layout facilitates the extraction of air from the radiators with benefit to the cooling of the engine. It 'also the new tank cap, with a shape which facilitates the operations of opening and closing and with external thread to avoid that dirt may enter the tank at the time of its mounting.

The seat has a different side profile with a new section. Allows greater ease of movement thanks to an upper part closer, in addition to being lighter. The fastening system saddle is modified, more precise in the front and with new fixing studs in the rear. Prevents extreme conditions of use of the bike or because of extreme impacts from coming loose.
The side panels have a design that allows for better flow and increased air circulation in the area around the head of the engine. This shape also gives a very slender line to the motorcycle and in practice make it easier both the position in the saddle that any maintenance / control in the upper part of the engine.

It 'also new instrumentation, lighter, with a larger display, better brightness and easier to read. Furthermore the lights of lights and turn signals are integrated, for better ergonomics of the area of the handlebar. The rear subframe has been stiffened to better support the license plate, lightened and modified to facilitate the replacement of the rear shock. Port plate stiffened by ribs, to enable the use of license plates also more bulky and heavy.

The 2T 2013 RR will be available from the month of October, from the network of official dealers Beta with the following prices:

RR Enduro 250 2T: Euro 7850,
RR Enduro 300 2T: Euro 7950 (ex works)

RR ENDURO 4T 350/400/450/498
The new Beta Enduro 4T 2013 benefit from a long and deep development work done first of all in the design phase and then optimized thanks to the experience gained in competitions around the world. Available in four engine capacities from 350 to 400 - 450 and the 498 RR Enduro 4T 2013 have been developed having as main objectives the reduction of weight, improved ergonomics and greater ease of handling in race conditions. The engines have benefited from a series of interventions aimed at improving detail the qualities of reliability and performance.
All this has resulted in a movement to the weight limit of the category, with an improved riding position, which is appreciated by both agonists by enthusiasts, who will appreciate especially the agility and stability, in addition to exceptional performance.

The motor has received a silencer modified in the internal structure, to obtain a delivery curve even more favorable and to reduce weight. All in full compliance with Phonometric FIM/2Metremax. The primary drive was shortened to 400 cc engine, to make the most of the characteristics of power and torque. E 'was adopted a new decompressor to facilitate the starting of the engine under all conditions. The air filter has new shape for improving the delivery of the engine, which is now more ready to sudden openings of the throttle. E 'different the cage centering of the air filter, to make it easier and secure mounting of the filter itself and also its fixing bracket is adjusted to make the lock even more secure.

The chassis includes a reinforced frame at the points of greatest stress and lightened where possible, to have a more robust and at the same time a significant reduction in weight. The wheels are completely renovated with brake discs with a different profile, more rigid with 6 points of attachment to the hub, made of high quality steel. New hubs, lighter and more rigid at the same time, try with a new profile, more resistant to stress and at the same time lighter specific beams and tubes special lightened to a further reduction of the masses.
The above leads to a weight reduction of 1.5 kg total between the 2 wheels that carry a tremendous benefit in terms of ease in changing direction, greater acceleration and braking more effective. The swingarm is made with a technology that allows the minimum thickness, rigidity and optimized weight distribution. The fork is a Sachs Ø 48 mm with internal parts completely renovated and spring K 4.8. This allows better control of the hydraulic part which results in a better absorption of shocks and hence a greater ease of driving in the most extreme conditions. In addition, the adjustment of the rebound damping is now through an external registry positioned above the fork body.
The rear shock absorber with dedicated calibration, spring and 5.2 K, the expansion tank has increased to provide better control of the hydraulics, cooling and therefore more stable performance. In addition, the body of the shock absorber is made of aluminum allowing a saving of weight of 300 grams.
Other special renewed, as tank, seat, side instrumentation, rear frame and license plate are in common with the 2-stroke versions.

The RR 4T 2013 will be available from the end of September, from the network of official dealers Beta priced unified: the displacements 350/400/450 4T it cost 8720 euro ex works 8770 and 498 euro ex works.

My very first bike was a Beta RK6 with a Minarelli 50cc engine. Those italians know how to design a tough motor. At first I thought it was a GasGas engine, but glad they are putting efforts on two strokes.

As soon as a single brand will introduce the fuel injection on a two stroke, other brands will do the same, Is a matter of time.
