Hi all,

Despite COVID-19, we hope to visit America next year.

I would like to plan around a SX. A1 is obvious choice but this is not possible.

Please can you share which other races are best for crowd, atmosphere and city.

Thank you

Salt Lake is hard to beat. Awesome city, SX Finale, & covid regulations there aren't crazy strict like a few other SX cities.

San Diego, Daytona, Foxborough, & Denver are all also rad.

I’ve been to nearly all of them, and for the true Supercross fan, nothing beats the excitement of A-1. No contest.

If you can’t make A-1, San Diego is about the best weather on the planet and a beautiful area.

Glendale is a great spot, hotels and entire entertainment area right next to the stadium, and typically one of the better tracks of the year every year.

There are better venues but nothing compares to A1. So much energy.

Atlanta blew away all the other venues last year.... including Daytona.

Salt Lake Finale.. International Airport.. and get to see all the top 250 guys in 1 race EAST/WEST. And if it a close points final, it' gets rowdy! Good chance you will run into the riders and famous MX industry folks in town at hotel, bars and restraunts.

I would try to hit something in the first 1/3 of rounds before injuries clear the field.

Glendale i hear is good, Arlington has an awesome stadium and a finale is always good

It was Pontiac, when the track went in the seats... Miss that race, had a great vibe to it...

Love Indy SX. So many choices for hotels and dining, all in walking distance to a great stadium.

Pontiac may have been the best venue of all time. RIP Silverdome.

All races are great but .... the 1st rounds are always the most exciting with what's going to happen this year and who will be the front runners. A1 is both 450 and 250 west. 1st 250 East this year is Minneapolis, MN. Daytona is very different than the other SX's. Atlanta is often a very good race.

been to almost every city
Best:
A1
San Diego
Glendale
Arlington
Atlanta

always a lot of fans, they show up early on race day for practice and qualifying, and stay through the final.

I'd say either Daytona or the Dallas event...simply because Dallas has the Sony Jumbotron screen so there's really no bad seat in the gigantic house.

I've been to more than half on the schedule, but I'd ask a bit more about what you are looking for to point you in the right direction.

Are you traveling alone, with a group of buddies, or with a family? The attractions and action away from the track help define what is "best".

Without knowing all of that, I think it's tough to beat Glendale. It's a gorgeous stadium, huge parking lot so they always do extra stuff like BMX for the pit party, there is a nice new shopping/restaurant area across the parking lot with plenty of close hotels and the airport is easy in and out - however, the stadium is a good 30 minutes or so from the airport. It's also a big stadium floor and weather is usually fantastic.

Man I know you were asking Reese, but I did race a few of the “amateur” SX events way back when, although it was at the Dallas venue when it was still at the old Texas stadium in Irving Tx.
I was only a weekend goon, but having a ball racing the local 125 Novice class with my brother, and decided I should take the bike, spectate the Pro’s on Saturday and then race on Sunday!
Good GOD was I wholly unprepared for what I was in for!? Despite a few modest successes in local arenacross races AND the track having been tamed down considerably from the night before, my “race” turned into an exercise in “DONT DIE” riding! Ha
It was still amazingly fun time and I went back again the next year and did it again! I think it was 1987 & 88 if I remember correctly and those are among the many great moto memories I have!

And sorry, I wasn’t trying to high-jack the thread!

I have been to Supercross races all over the country and I honestly don’t think there is a bad venue!
A1 is always great with the new season kicking off and hopefully all the heavy hitters are healthy and on the line, plus the excitement of seeing all the new bikes, kits etc BUT I’ve never been disappointed with any SX I’ve been to and I’d say hit whichever race fits your travel itinerary and family plans the best!

Seeing any American SX live is better than NO SX!
