91 DGY yz125 Doug Henry lead 3 laps at Millville. Jimmy Button won super crosses on one. Slowest 125 ever stock.

That was a Ron Hamp head/ valve/ springs and cam on that bike. Ron worked with Terry on it... Ron told me this directly a few times.

A mini nonetheless, but the 83 KX80 changed everything. It took 2-3 years for everyone else to catch up with that bike. It was that good. Yes, the DMC YZ 80 of 84 was an absolute work of art, and I drooled over it, (Hell, I was even lucky enough to sit on it when I was 10 at Ponca....) but it literally took a bike of that caliber to overcome a KX 80 with mild modifications during that era. 83, 84, 85 models were as good as any mini pilot could get their hands on, privateer or not.

It’s probably been said but when the CRF450 came out it was light years ahead. You had tons of those pulling factory two strokes all over the place. So 02 to 06ish. When Kawi and Suzuki came out it finally evened it out a bit and even still Honda’s where everywhere until 09.

Best effort has to be Chris Heisser and the Tin Can.
Best working bike Mike Alessi and the MCR 450 Suzuki.

11-18-89 on my birthday, I bought 1, with NSR port job and 18# on it. This was my 1st Mx bike, riode 13 times. I broke the shock blitzing whoops, installed a WP shock. Then singed up for 125 expert class, because it was 8 laps. Tangled up in 1st turn, kept on passing riders. Got the lead and pulled away. Cross rutted a double with 1 corner to the finish. Did a 1/2 front flip landed upside down wide open. I couldn’t move my legs for a minute. Yahmaha dealer offered a free 91 yz125, I declined the offer. I stacked 2 base gaskets, sometimes 3. 87 cr125 was fast, handled great too. Kid b4 me did hill climbs on it.
Holy crap. You bought my cousin's CR125! All of their bikes were/are fast.

Haha holy crap is right. I soon as I saw it in your Uncles garage, I knew it was the one. It was very clean, he told me his son did hill climbs. If I remember right. I borrowed my brother in laws el Camino to get it. Very excited I forgot tie downs. I had to hide it at my brother in laws, so my Mom wouldn’t,t find out. That CR was faster than my 92, 95,98,01 RM etc. 2 guys from up north bought it from me, they where scarred to ride it. Was on cr 6 yrs ago, I found the phone # last June. I called and text him, I offered 200.00 for info on where it is. He didn,t know. The cr add looked like he never rode it, same graphics etc. I put a red and white tiger stripe seat cover on it, WP shock.

DG pipe, topend 8-10 hrs with wrist pin bearing. That was a defect, I found out last year. End of Lombardi ave sand pic, chased Chad Parker 125 a rider there. Learning how to ride, wide open chasing an expert. Navarino ski hill was air pic, same yr.

Andrew Short got his only career 450 SX win (Seattle 2012) on a stock CRF. So, CRF 450?

Bike only had:

Stock engine
KYB production all-air fork
High compression piston
Hinson clutch basket
FMF exhaust
Clamps
Linkage

That bike had some factory goodies on the inside...
Pretty sure his 2012 bike riding for Chaparral Honda was a full factory bike leased from Honda.

In 2013 when the team folded and Honda "repoed" the bike, Short rode a production bike with a few bolt-ons for a few races before getting picked up by BTO. Still impressive he nabbed a sixth on a bike that's less tricked out than most Vet 40+ bikes

Jim’s is my local shop and my family is really close to the owners so i was able to go upstairs where they keep all their vintages bikes. I remember seeing this bike or possibly a backup bike and not even batting an eye because they also have one of his PC kx125s. I’m not sure if they still have it or sold it, i wish i knew what i was looking at that daySilly

In a time where Pro Circuit engines dominated the 250 class, I never thought I would see one of these Hondas roll past a PC bike on a straight with the rider looking and waving at the same time.

Anyway, the eleven10 mod bikes looked fast and solid.
In fairness, MZ193 is right. I'm not downplaying the bikes speed but there is a video link somewhere of the pass. Durham is being lapped and PC bike moves by him surprisingly fast on the outside. I always look at the picture and think of what a lucky shot it is. eleven10 bike is still sick though.

He had some factory parts on the 2012 if I’m not mistaken.
