Ok after a couple of motos comparing my AER's to my friends Cone Valves, I've decided to get a set. He got his @ Factory Connection along with the Traxx shock. It looks like FC charges another $225+ for revalve. I'm sticking with the stock rear shock and just getting it revalved/sprung.

Is FC the best option? I've heard Powerband Racing and Kreft are dealers as well-

A buddy got his set from Smartshop in Estonia. Comes with standard valving though and he's since had them revalved with FC.

I had Enzo revalve a set of WP CC forks for mine. Springs are nice.

Race Tech, Factory Connection, Powerband, and Suspension Direct are the 4 WP Centers I'm currently aware of. I know Race Tech, FC, and Powerband will provide setup service for them; so you'll want to look for which company you trust in the most as the setups won't be the same. The cone valve fork is a great component when dialed in, and I've heard great feedback from customers from all of the places listed above.

I'm biased but I say fc all the way. They may have some in stock currently as well and I believe WP is closed until the mid-end of the month so if the suspension company you go with does not have a set in stock, they won't be able to get you a set coming until wp gets replanted in Ohio

AEO Powersports in AZ is an authorized WP Service Center and stocks everything (forks, shocks and parts) for most current bikes. Give Jeremy a call at their Peoria, AZ location and he will take care of you completely.

I just was on the phone with our service manager, and we have WP forks and shocks in stock at our Corona, CA HQ.

Just a question, why are you revalving the CVs? What is it you felt was not right when you got them? I run stock valving in mine and curious how you diagnose it needs a revalve. Basically you are saying clickers, preload, springs and oil volume cant fix what you experience.

Are you light weight guys, the other end of scale?

They got their data from WP. It's all the same. And a big reason WHY the CV stuff is so well loved.

Just go with the best customer service.

Thx, but I'd be keeping them. The whole allure to me is that I can slap the stk AER's on when I sell the bike, and keep the Cone Valves, and put on the next new scoot.
Appreciate the input guys!

buy the next scoot first and swap on brand new nicer suspension? That way you can also tell your wife you absolutely have to buy the new bike first otherwise you will lose more money LaughingLaughingLaughing

No one wants to share what they thought was wrong with the stock CV valving (2017)?

Stock valving is waaay to soft on a 2016 conevalve, not even harder springs, max oil (420ml) and 4 turns preload wont help it

the best place is where they remove cv system and fit a traditional mid valve like kyb or showa

I do not share your opinion. There are lots of tuners that don’t have enough experience with them, so it’s easier to replace with what they know.

Only problem with getting new WP Cone Valve forks from Billy at Powerband is you forget to touch the clickers since the forks are so damn good out of the box lol.

Completely disagree. I had a set from WP Factory Services set up a set for a 16 KTM 450 and they were amazing. I then got a set of CVs for a 17 Honda 450R and a company replaced the cv system with a mid-speed valve, on their recommendation, and after 4 tries it was no where near as good as the stock showa that they revalved, and miles away from how good my Factory Services KTM CVs were.

I just bought another set of CVs this week from NorCal Motorsports (which are now a WP Authorized Center) for my 19 KTM 450, and they along with my stock shock are going to Billy at Powerband.

Are Cone Valve forks automatically set up for every rider who buys them? Rider weight, riding style, type of tracks, etc?

My buddy went from a KX450 to a Rockstar 450 Husky. TLDR = The revalved stock shock is great.

He bought cone forks and had the stock shock valved/sprung by Factory Connection.
The rear shock, according to him, is one of the best he's ever had.

That's a big statement since he's been riding A-kit stuff.

Initially, we modified some X-trig clamps and made some custom axle collars to put his older spring a-kit fork on the bike until he had his Cone valve stuff done.

He says the A-kit handles jumps and stuff better, but the cones turn slightly better.
(I attribute that to the longer fork-lug offset on his particular Showa fork).

His only gripe is that the F.C. fork valving in the cone fork doesn't give him the confidence the RG3 valving in the Showa fork gives. I got the impression that it boiled down to a communication issue with FC.

I rode the bike with the FC stuff. Although I'm faster/younger, I'm a lot lighter (165lbs vs 220lbs). It turns awesome and feels well balanced, although the springs are a bit heavy for my weight. It was a HUGE step up from any stock KTM/Husky fork I've ever ridden; they always feel like there's no oil in them stock.
