Best knee braces

I’m in the market for some new knee braces. I’ve run the asterisk cells for a few years but find they don’t fit me the best and I find them really big and bulky to ride it.
What do people see as the best these days, a lot of new ones come in since I got my cells

You're likely going to get a plethora of opinions on this topic as there are many good manufacturers. But if you want less of a bulky feel, look at Leatt C Frames as they only have the frame on the outside of the knee and the inside can grip the bike like normal. My $0.02.

Just picked up a new set of Pod K8 after 5 years out of my last K8s. Very impressed, the new generation are impressive.

I basically wore out the carbon frames on my last set. As a guess, there would have been 500 hours plus of off road on them.

Just picked up some carbon cells from asterisk. Called them to get a part for my ultra cells, asked about some issues I was having with them fitting. They talked me into a set of carbon cells. Honestly can’t be happier with the fit and their customer service. Was a small hiccup with my order, they made it right and overnighted a corrected pair with a return label for the others. Can’t beat that.

Not bulky at all, honestly doesn’t even feel like you have anything on compared to ultra cells. Highly recommend calling them, ask for Nick, he’s great to deal with.

I recently went from the old EVS Web braces (bulky old school carbon fiber type) to the newer EVS Web Pro braces and I am really happy. The fit is much better and the hinge feels more natural.

I have done to the best of my ability but i've had 2 recons on the left one, it's pretty good, but i find gripping the bike with my knees touch in the ultra cells, i'd love to get some custome CTI's but they're out of my price range!

When I bought mine, I went to a local shop with a good selection and tried on a bunch... they all felt different, and some fit my knee better than others.

I ended up going with Mobius; they are large, but fit my knee very well and have some serious protection. They can get a bit hot though.

They all fit differently. When I bought mine, I ordered 3 different brands/sizes from Rocky Mountain, tried them all on. None of the Leatt X or C frames fit very well but the Z-frame fit GREAT. My 2nd best fit came from the EVS Web Pro. Mobius were pretty good, but too long for my short legs. I ended up with the Z-frame and sent all the others back.

For off-road riding- enduros where I'm in the seat for hours, standing up/sitting down 10,000X during the day, I use compression sleeves with side supports and a set of Leatt 3DF Hybrid guards. Very supportive, comfortable, light, and excellent rock-to-the-knee protection. I don't generally stick my foot out much there due to roots, rocks, etc. and the compression sleeve gives me much more support than knee braces.

Try some on if you can.

I use Mobius and really like them. Super comfortable.

Only down side is they are wicked hot. You can't really tell while riding but when you take them off your legs are soaked.

The new 2.0 POD Braces are incredibly lightweight and comfortable. I wear the K8 2.0's. I tried the Mobius though they were too heavy and don't breath. Any of the new moto pants, which are a more performance cut, catch on the external ridges of the brace, plus there's too much bulk behind your knee with the big rubber 'X' that pulls in when you tighten the cables. I'm taller so when I'd sit the straps and rubber would bunch up and pinch the back of my calves and lower hamstring. The new Asterisk Cell looks good, though I figured that POD went away from fully rigid frames (which were on their prior models) and integrated adaptive cuffs to their new braces, for comfort. Give the POD's a shot!

I have the POD 2.0 braces as well. There are two levels of POD 2.0 - K4 and K8. The K4 is a fiberglass/nylon construction with slightly different sizing that the K8. The K8 is the premiere level carbon fiber brace.

For me, the K4 fit completely fine (I am average height and weight). Maybe if I rode more than a day at the track on the weekend I would benefit from some lighter/slimmer brace, but I dont notice the braces at all on the bike. It did take me a day or so to find the right strap adjustment, etc.

I haven't tried the others, but the EVS Web Pro braces are excellent. A nice upgrade over the original Web brace.

Thanks for the suggestions, it’s a shame due to COVID the dirt bike show here in the UK this year has been cancelled or I could’ve tried a load of them

I've had 2 ACLs done on my left and am currently using the Mobius x8. So far I'm happy with them.

Sorry but this is just nonsense. Everyone's anatomy is different. What works for one person might do NOTHING for another.

Personally, I find that the biggest factor in a knee brace working are lockout before full extension and an anti-rotation strap to the boot. NO ONE's knee is a strong (no matter how much exercise you do) as it is with a knee brace that is set up with these features.

Wore k300s for 5 years. Durable. Rebuildable. Still in my trailer as they can be used if someone forgets.

Picked up new k4 2.0 this year. Better knee cup coverage. Better strap design. They feel great.

Highly recommend k4 series. My brother has k8. I couldn’t justify the cost. They virtually feel identical. Little more flex wirh the k4 but I prefer less ridigity to flex and disperse and absorb huge impacts. Might not be any science in that, but to say they flex I can’t get them to physically flex under my own strength. They’re solid braces.

I have these and really like them, had to replace the straps after two years of use but they are still in great shape otherwise
