Most of the '70s/'80s greats wore JT. With the exception of Ricky Johnson, I don't think any of the top-name guys ever wore Fox back then.
Bailey, Ward, Lechein, O'Mara, Hannah all come to mind.

As others mentioned, I think Shift has to count at Fox since they are owned by them. Plus, most Shift riders do use Fox boots and helmets.

Cool thread, it’s amazing to realise how much of a powerhouse fox is.
I think JT said on a pulp show that chads fox deal was 500k a year. They must have serious money invested in their riders!

Ward is understandable because Fox wasn't so dominant in the 80s. Villo is the surprise. There must be a photo of RV out there on a 50 or 60 in a Fox jersey or something!

On Wardy and Sinisalo: I went to the 1983 USGP at Carlsbad with my Uncle. There was a Sinisalo tent with a contest to win some gear. I filled out ballots all bloody day and chucked them in the bin. Won a set of gloves and was so pumped to hear my name over over the speaker. I must have worn the gloves for 5 years straight.

Drifting this a bit, but RJ did wear JT in his early days on Yamaha, before he switched to Sinisalo. This is from 1982.
