Bringing this post back. There's a 76 station on the way to Perris Raceway that sells 100 "Race Fuel" Have any of you used this? If not would you be fine running it? It was like 4.30 a gallon I believe when I drove by.

Use to run it in our 4 strokes a while back. It's definitely better than our 91 crap!

It’s right off the freeway on the Cajalco side of the Ramona Expressway exit! There’s only two pumps that have it and they are on their own hose.

A couple pails of race gas costs more than a top end on a 2 stroke. Just run pump gas man.

you can run pump gas but you are going to be right on the verge of detonation. If you can afford it go to either 50/50 c12 and pump gas or straight vp t4 or t2. Sunoco surge also works and it is cheaper than t4.

i have run it before. it has a lot of ethanol in it. i now mix vp street blaze with shell 91. you will loose hp with it over 91 unless your engine is tuned for it .

I’d run the highest octane possible. 110 is great if availivble newer ktm’s wont run on less then 95
Klotz is is the best oil ever in my option and premix depends on the bike and year 40/1-60/1

I was more concerned about ethanol free than high octane in the 125. That shit gunks up everything..

here's a great locator for both

in general, running fuel that is much higher in octane than what a vehicle requires is pointless.

I wonder how long before the guys claiming the YZ manual says "95 octane" realize that is RON (Research Octane Number)... which is really 90-91 at the pump in the states (or at least here in CA, R+M/2).

Here's some help: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Octane_rating
We’ve had a lot of those YZ250 2 banger motors detonate and implode on pump fuel around my area. No less than 8 that I know... 4 after I told them not to run pump and they did anyway. I ran T2 99 octane in ours until I did the motor and then we moved to a higher octane fuel because our builder recommended higher due to increased compression.

Be careful with Sunoco... read the fine print as they like to sneak ethanol in their fuel to gain some octane. Maybe they came out with ethanol free since I last looked but definitely do your homework to be sure.

Yeah going 50/50 is counterproductive, kind of like robbing a store with a loaded gun. For a one off tank go up 4% (roughly 2 sizes on the main) with the main jet, for fuel injection let’s hope a few more become reliable and knowledgeable. ?

That would be a killer deal as most of that gas is $10 a gallon. I think it might be Trick Street 100. It'a good stuff.

I've never ran anything except pump gas in 2 strokes since 1991 and never had any issues or know anyone who did. I tried some race gas one time and only difference I noticed was my wallet was lighter.

I can't think of a single reason to use race gas. Social media has fueled this "you need race gas nonsense". Unless your motor is built for race gas, pump gas will work just fine. If your bike blew up using pump gas, I highly doubt it was the gas. Probably more like poor maintenance.

I have been running two strokes for a long time. From 50 cc with my kids to highly modified 300 cc stroker ktm’s. And everything in between. Ive tried 100 octane av gas, pump, vp 110, c12 and various mixtures. I can tell you this unequivocally, the absolute best running fuel ive found is vp 113. Crisp, clean, consistent. A bit pricey but well worth it. Hell, you have an $8000 bike with $2500 motor work whats $13 gallon for quality fuel.

113 is sn oxygenated fuel, runs excellent in any two stroke, however the best results were on my full out stroked 300. Unbelievably crisp, felt more torquey throughout the rpms. Absolutely NO hesitation at all.

All i use

Good info..
I've run pump fuel on all my 2 strokes for the last 40 yrs. with no issues.
I'm now running higher octane because of 2 modified CR250r engines.

I've used it the last 3 yrs. or so with good results on modified CR2 engines. Not quite the boost you get from a VP C-12, but the 100 octane rating helps if the head is cut for race fuel.

My 2007 CR250R pings big time on 91. It's jetted very crisp and the plug reads a nice caramel color when tested. On VP110 I never ever have any issues, it smells better, and when I don't ride for 3 months the bike starts right up perfectly every single time.
