2018 SX 250. I was amazed by that bike in a way that i have never ever been after a few laps on a bike.

I can't wait to ride the 2019.

My 1982 RM250 was an awesome handling bike. After I put a set of Fox Factory Forks on it, it went up a few notches above awesome. Tongue

I was 15 years old racing one of those. Pretty fast bike for a kid I’ll say!

A few weeks ago I raced a buddies '05 RM250, man I LOVE that thing. I forgot how forgiving steel frames are. the thing cornered like a dream and the suspension was awesome, all stock, I didn't even set the sag. It could flat track and rail berms and ruts, it was a little twitchy compared to my hondas but I felt compfortable with it getting a little excited, since it was so nimble I could just ride real relaxed. Getting that thing to go anywhere was a little troubling, I guess slow bikes handle well.

Those RM's anywhere from 1996 thru the end were amazing at turning. Very little input needed to grab the inside line.

I remember I had been on RM's for a LONG time and decided to change up the program and bought an aluminum frame CR 250 I think it was 2001. What a mistake!!!! Felt like shit compared to the RM. Only had it about a month and got rid of it and went back to RM's.

I rode one a few times and couldn't believe the power and handling. It was pretty much perfect. No powervalve, etc but had a motor like a fast tractor, and the handling was great. It's an amazing bike.

94 KX250 with a Scotts steering stabilizer, gold valves and coatings and whatever else they made. A buddy's bike who raced the expert class and spent all kinds of money on the suspension. I rode it a Mammoth and was bummed out because I had no idea how truly shitty my 90 CR250 was until I rode that bike lol

I think the older bikes that had actual foam in the seats helped a lot coming in and out of corners through braking and acceleration bumps too. I know mx seats aren't really designed for sitting or comfort, but newer bikes are like sitting on a 4x4.

Maybe the KX was rideable with all the suspension work. I had a 95 KX250 that wanted to kill me everytime you got just a little out of shape, rode it fast but it was scary sometimes. I tried a buddies 99 YZ250 it was like cheating compared to the KX. I have a 16 YZ250 two stroke that is the best handling bike I've ridden... just my opinion.
Could be he was really good at setting it up too ? I don't know, I do know he spent a lot of money (and time) setting it up. Going down the hill at Mammoth it felt like a hovercraft compared to the 90 CR250 I was riding at the time. I was a diehard Honda guy until then. My next bike was a 97 KX250 that handled good too, but still wasn't as plush as the 94'.
