Gosh, I miss the days of Art Eckman and David Bailey in the booth. Who was your favorite duo to listen to?

I’m talking over them the entire time so it doesn’t really matter, but I wish Emig was back.

Yep, Eckman & Bailey are my all-time top 2 as well...even towards the end, when Art would constantly mess up the names!

I liked Eckman and Bailey but remember they added the commentary after the fact. At least in MX not sure about SX. Today I like Malin and whoever he's occasionally paired with . Does great on his own though too.

Please stop...it's just going to get everyone spun up. A thread like this already exists and had been argued beyond belief.

Here's one: https://www.vitalmx.com/forums/Moto-Related,20/Best-commentators-around,1361713

Here's another: https://www.vitalmx.com/forums/Moto-Related,20/Eckman,387892

Here's one about when Ralph was Ricky: https://www.vitalmx.com/forums/Moto-Related,20/When-Ralph-was-Ricky-and-he-was-better-than-Ricky,1359540

The point is, these threads are tired.

Can't we talk about something else like how awesome that Mosiman kid did in Phoenix?

First couple years together they recorded SX after the fact, then they were "live to tape" (attended every race in person and recorded, then it was broadcasted a week later), then live. Even when they were live to tape, they rarely fixed anything post-production. There's an old article Bailey wrote for RacerX where he talks about it and how Art helped him when they transitioned to live to tape.

This topic has come up many times over the years and there is always the argument that Art and David somehow had it easier, but that simply isn't true, at least not for the vast majority of their time calling the races. Not blaming you... It's just constantly perpetuated.

Weigandt and David Bailey were probably the best duo we’ve ever had, it just didn’t very long so I don’t think most people even remember it.

I'll vote for Weigandt and Langston as my fave duo. Good balance, Weege really knows how to carry the event as it unfolds which is a subtlety, and GL gives good feedback on the riding with good sense of humour. The South African accent is also easy on the ears!

Malin is incredible on his own, but when he has someone in the booth with him it seems awkward at times. I'm thinking of him and Adam Wheeler, or him and JT$. I will say he and JT$ have improved as they've worked together, but I think Paul is just so used to doing it all. I'm sure JT$ could weigh in on the process, but it has to be difficult to only do a few rounds per year with a guy who is used to doing everything himself.

Best duo in the booth?
With out question it would be the Dillon sisters.

Total freaks, and not afraid of being in public.

Gram of coke, and hell yeah, the Dillon sisters.

There is Eckman and Bailey, after those two it’s a separate category. Eckman has the voice and Bailey the insight.

How about this trio:

Paul Page (RIP) and Bruce Flanders in the booth with Steve Evans trackside!

Larry Huffman didn't need no stinkin' partner! He handled his business like a snake oil salesman in the night. Dude was slicker than a mayonnaise sandwich. Disagree? Well here comes Hannah... ask him!

Yea, no shit..If they still raced 2 stokes I would only need the sound of the bikes.

I vote for the pair below. To me it doesn't really matter what the people in the booth say as I can "hear" them, I just don't listen to anything they're saying. I'm able to mute out any announcers as I just find them annoying. Necessary due to the nature of the broadcast, I'm just not interested in anything they have to say. I'm NOT hating on people in the booth, they just have to dumb it down to much AND INCLUDE STUPID HUMAN INTEREST STORIES instead of watching and commenting on the race. I do have one question I'd like the booth to answer: Is getting a good start important?
