Back in 1992 a friend and myself went to the National at Budds.
The 70s, I chased the dream non stop.
I hadn't ridden most of the 80s.
Told myself, theses guys aren't all that.
2 weeks later I notice 2 dirtbikes laying on their sides behind a customers house.
One of them, the rear fender was broken off. Rusted chain, faded plastic.
Bars were bent.
Someone had gone over backwards and said screw this thing,

$200 bucks. Rode that thing for 4 years. 2 years dist 7. Top 10 Senior in 96.
I think I put a set of rings in it once. Refused to wear gear. Got in great shape,
and became one with that bike. A lot of guys smirked when they took me, a lot got genuinely pissed
when I beat them. Made some great friends, had some great times on that bike.

Pretty rare pic. motogrady at Happy Ramblers, I think 96. On my 81 yz 465.

Best deal I ever had.

In 1996 I bought a new KX125, and a leftover '95 KX80 for the wife.$5200 complete.Plus he threw in a case of pre-mix.

It was definitely more affordable to go MX racing back then for first-timers...
