Kxf 250 2011 for 2400€. I bought it with 86 total hours. Raced one entire year just changing oil every 5 hours. I've put on that 70 hours. Sold it one year later for 2200€.
KX 85 2005 (my first dirtbike), bought it with completely new motor and paid 1600€. After three years (about 130-150 hours) without doing NOTHING except oil and rarely air filter sold it for 1200€. THREE YEARS GUYS. Sometimes i just think manual's are bullshits.. 30/40 hours for a top end? ahahahahahah

Picked up a mint 04 YZ 125 in 07 for $1400 for my son, sold it two years later for 1800. The good times and memories we had with that bike are still priceless to this day. Kinda sounds mushy, lol, but we had epic fun.

In August 2001, bought a Brand New 2001 RM 250 for $3100 USD out the door from an Ontario bike shop. Raced it 3 years. Sold it late 2004 for $3500 USD in Michigan. Wish I would have kept it.
I had an 01 RM250 and while it ran like a big 125, literally EVERYTHING about that bike was incredible!

Best deal ever ? I sold my high hour 05’ YZ50 to mattyhamz for 1,500’. Then bought my brother in laws low hour trail ridden only 06’ YZ250 for 1,500’. The bike had been trail putted only but hadn’t seen much love. I haven’t added up the receipts yet but i had the suspension serviced (1st time in its life) grips, tires, tubes, throttle tube and cable, V- force reeds, fmf shorty, chain and sprockets, air filter, chain sliders, carb rebuild kit, vent hoses, radiator hoses, and a few miscellaneous bolts and spacers here and there. I think I cleaned 5 pounds of grease and mung off the bike but it seemed like the years off dirt and wd40 gave it a protective coating ?, there were only a few stubborn bolts. I kept my pipe and assorted bling from the 05’ and got the restyle kit for Christmas. Kind of dragged my feet ordering graphics and switching the plastic over but that’s almost done. Glad it worked out Matt ! Worked out good for me too. I’ll post up a couple pics when it’s totally done, here’s the right side I threw some yellow in there to make it turn better Laughing

I generally go with the "buy high, sell low" theory.
I can't be the only one.

Bought a brand new 08 RMZ450 in 2009 for $5200 Cdn, or roughly $3900USD.

Another one was a brand new leftover 08 Aprilia MXV450 in 2011 for 5800, or 4300US.

For second hand scores I got a 2011 TM 450MX in like new shape, 19 hours on it for $3400 on ebay back around 2013.

Still got it all these years later!
That reminds me of another deal I got. Back in 2015 I traded a '09 CRF250 for a '08 RM 250. Not only that but he gave me $1500 on top of it.

Pretty safe to say I got the better end of that deal.

My second dirt bike, a 1995 yz125. Got it in mid 1999 as a B-Day from pops. Got it from a guy at my school who was kind of a baggy douche, but his bike was legit. If people today saw how clean it was and how bad my teenage ass thrashed it, I'd be hung in public square.

$1,800 cash. That bike bike still today makes my miss throwing a 125 around, but I'm too spoiled by four strokes now.

I have a bargain regret: a cherry 1996 cr250 that collected dust. Other than cleaning rust off the pro circuit pipe and replacing an old fuel line, bike was immaculate. Friend, who got me into real moto, told me his dad was thinking of selling it. His old man told me $1,500 cash. Cleanest unrestored 90's smoker I've still seen to the day.

Bought a 2014 SXF 450 (equipped with FMF exhaust and Race Tech suspension) with 30 hours on the frame and 5 on the engine in 2015 for 4800€. That is probably my best deal on a bike ever. Although the price difference that i had to pay a few weeks ago when i traded in my 2018 YZF 450 for a 2019 was also really, really low.

You win. Does your friend happen to have an 81 250?

I was going through an ugly divorce and decided to buy a street bike. It was $14k. I Financed the whole thing because I was basically broke but had good credit.. 3 months into my financing I got a newly designed, reformatted statement in the mail and it suddenly showed zero balance.. Got the signed off Title the next week. That was about 20 years ago. That's all the details I'm giving..

No pictures as already sold it but in 2011 I seen a ad for a 2010 kawi 110. Said motor blown, 100 bucks. Called em and headed that way. Looked like new still and I noticed a strap from hauling it cut the kill switch. Yanked it off and it fired up, rode it up the ramp in my pickup. Guy tried to buy it back on the spot for 500 bucks. Had to turn him down

Bought a dusty 06 yz125 that was sitting in a barn for years. Guys parents bought it for him when he was 14. 10 yrs later he sold it to me for $1,100, maybe had 10 hrs on it. Rode it for 20 hours threw a new piston and clutch in and rode for another 10 hrs. Sold it for $2,800 about 6 months later. Wish i would have kept it though as another deal like that prob wont be had.

I had 3 bikes stolen from a storage unit. A 2011 YZ450, 2008 KTM 690 SMC and a 2006 CRF450. They were all low hours with aftermarket exhaust and other stuff. My homeowners insurance covered me for full replacement. I bought 3 new 2013's (CRF, KX, 690 Duke) and added exhaust systems to each (all covered). A month or so later, the CRF was recovered. I paid the insurance $1k for it, cleaned it up and sold it for $2,300 a few weeks later. A year later, the SMC was recovered (in pieces). I rebuilt it (probably put $3k into it) and sold it for $5,200. The YZ never turned up.
