I was really hoping to see this kid get a ride for next year and here it is getting close to the end of October and he still doesn't have a ride. He showed his outdoor speed this year by doing great at Loretta's this year and earning the Horizon award and then he backed it up with a great finish at Indiana. Last year he finished 3rd at the Monster Energy cup race in the Amateur All Star class showing that he can ride SX yet he still isn't getting the calls.
I hope the Industry keeps getting stronger over the next couple of years because I have to believe a kid of this caliber would have had a ride already if this would have been just a few years ago.

Pretty sure he is.
The Shop
The days of an unheralded Ryan Dungey begging Rodgers DeCoster for a ride after doing well at lorettas and coming from pretty far off the radar to get a factory ride seem to be just about over. If your not in a 'program' by schoolboy, GOOD LUCK.
It seems the teams invest so much into rider A that come hell or high water they are obligated to see it through, even if there is another rider who is on par with their investemet.
I grew up racing and riding with Marshal Weltin, and he's kind of in the same boat. Beat Forkner straight up at the Baja Brawl this year but is still without a team (to my knoledge). He DOES have a national number from last year's remaining rounds after LL and you could argue he was the most impressive graduate from the ranch.....
Like I said, if youre on the outside looking in, good luck getting a team to bail on a 5 year investment and give someone else a shot.
Have these teams learned NOTHING from the last 2 years of superstar amateur kids with big promise coming in and barely able to crack the top ten more than 2 times while crashing out of half of the races
Maybe they haven't got his contract done, but it seems like he is on the team.
Benny will be racing one way or another and it's going to be someones loss if they don't grab this kid and give him a contract.
Pit Row
There are a lot of Heisman trophy winners that never make it in the NFL.
This year's A class seemed weak. Maybe one of them will prove me wrong, but I don't see any top 5 talent in there. Plus, the big teams are full.
Maybe he needs to privateer his way through a SX season on a 250 to get enough points to be eligible to ride a 450 in 2017. Jump on the big bike for outdoors and the rest of his career where he can actually compete on reasonably level ground.
