Broke mine twice. Take that injury very seriously... you don't want avascular necrosis. Trust me. That bone unfortunately needs a lot of time to heal.

I wish I had pictures, I bent a pair worse than this in 2005. literally straight down like an "L" after the bike cartwheeled. My left leg was wrapped around the back of my head with my foot draped over my right shoulder, compound fracture of my left femurWoohoo

Bent a set of twinwalls falling off the center stand onto concrete, so they do bend

consider a helmet with a break away visor. Looking at that pick and your face it should have broke off I would think?

Bummer about the wrist! Glad it wasn’t worse. Heal up quick.

That's impressive! How long had they been on the bike?

I'm thinking i must have hit straight down, the visor on a bell is very easy to move it doesn't have a center bolt like most, and it didn't even move up.

Maybe 6-7 months. It was about 5 years ago. To be fair, I had to step over the bars and the bike landed upside down into the face of the landing. Not sure how far the bike went, but I flew about 120'.

Bummer on the schapoid fracture.

If it's any consolation, I just wrecked my wrist pretty good in July and got back on the bike twice in the last week. Wrist did really well. Look into getting a brace from Allsport Dynamics.

Second that , please don't rush back. That bone does not get a lot of blood to it. I shattered mine into about 6 pieces , went into surgery where they had to pin it. Even at that I was told it may not heal and they would have to fuse it. It took close to 5 months to get it to where I could ride with it. I was also told if I break it again he wont be able to fix it ,and they would have to remove it. Now with all this time off the bike you can buy new bars with the money you would have spent racing. That way you can go back with a piece of mind.

Fortunately it was a floater and I hit the landing so I only had a sore ass and some damage to my thumb. Definitely one of my more spectacular crashes. What would’ve happened if I didn’t bail would have been much worse. I got lucky.

My New restored 07 CR250R using the bar that came with it, I pulled on the tie down and the bar snapped CLEAN off. Happened on the bike rack. I would have lost my mind if I saw the new and restored to SHOWROOM stock bike tumbling down the road in my mirror. No signs of damage at all when I mounted it. Would have been worse if it weren't restored as a mancave bike and I was riding it

I was browsing the Oakley site and saw this and it made me think of this thread and thought you might be able to take advantage of it since your goggles broke.

You are lucky your family isn't spending money on a special needs van to get you around. Just buy new bars and be more careful
