Looks like Bell are the next company in line to incorporate some ideas from 6D into their helmet. Can't be a bad thing. Wonder how steep the price tag will be though?

Bottom line is this is great news. 6D did redefine the helmet industry. If you look at both Fox and Bell ads in Racer X, now vs. 2-3 years ago, they are much different. The ads used to lead with helmet weight, and paint schemes a very close second. Now almost every AD leads with safety.
That's great for all us consumers. We win, our spouses and kids win, even the dog is happy.

I have to admit I'm chuckling a bit since the other manufactures were basically saying 6D was gimmicky...meanwhile behind the scenes were running around trying to mimic them!
Because unlike 6D, Bell has many other traditional helmets for sale. They would be putting down their own products if they criticized a standard helmet.
and my dog isn't happy because of my dirt bike helmet, he's happy because he can lick his own crank....

I thought about your point before I said that. I guess I see it from the other side. It's perfectly OK to release a premium priced helmet that offers more safety features, and charge a premium price for it. What will be interesting is if they upgrade all of their existing lines to incorporate the technology?
Can't wait to have more choices in the market. It just drives price down, makes innovation happen and we all win. I'm a loyal guy to good products with service, and having met Bob Weber and his staff, it will be hard to sway me away.
