Every year at a local small town fair they have flat track races and some family and friends are racing. The class their in is a like a novice or beginner class. I have watched the race in the past and every bike out there had Motocross suspension setups and tires. Long story short I want to enter this year and i would prefer to win. I do not want to dump big money into it but I'm curious if any of you have done this.

I assume hard surface=soft suspension, but how soft ? Any knowledge is appreciated.

you can buy a rear flat track tire for your bike. Run everything else stock. I used to run my 450 like that in the amateur class at a TT in PA. Bike worked fine with that set up.

I have a stiffer shock spring because i weigh over 200lbs. You think I should switch the rear shock back to the stock spring rate too? Maybe give it a lil more squat?

No.. hard surface, hard suspension. You need to load the tyre to get grip.

I’ve been looking at one of these for my local flat track races. Also keeps you from having. To switch the tires on your Mx bike.

If you are running your bike at stock height slow the rebound way down on the rear. compression isn't that big of deal, You just don't want a fast rebound, Leads to high sides
