Honestly I was thinking that yesterday. Cooper isn't looking that great, and Bam rides Red Bud well and would probably be the best candidate to drop down. Eli, Sexton, Barcia on a 250 would be my pick, we just don't have any good consistent 250 riders right now.

Barcia , Anderson , Craig , Sexton or Tomac ….. put any one of them that is willing on a 250 and any of the others on 450s and they are the favourites to win . 👍

Eli, Chase and either Barcia or Craig on the 250 would be my choice. I feel like Craig might be an easier choice since he was on a 250 more recently. But either would be awesome.

Craig is a helluva rider but I think Barcia would be an animal on a 250 at this point. He's great at Red Bud and always wants to do the nations race so I say give him the job!

My vote is dependent on whether Herlings is racing or not.

If Herlings is there I want Eli and Chase on 450s to race him, with Bam Bam or Craig on a 250.

If Herlings is out, Eli would have nothing to prove. I'd love to see him on a Star 250, with Chase and Anderson on 450s.

The difference is Barcia was a multi time champ on a 250 and arguably rode it better than he rides a 450, Craig was never a standout outdoors on a 250.

Who's gonna ride the 250 on that team? Sexton was never that great on a 250 outdoors, Tomac doesn't handle change very well, and Factory Kawi doesn't have an in house 250 program. Would there be any conflict with him riding a PC bike?

Sorry but his ship has sailed. Barcia would not be a good choice. I fell like cooper will be the chosen one but Hampshire rode well yesterday as well.

Big fan of the choice if that happens -

For any golfers out there, Barcia to me is a lot like Patrick Reed. Can’t stand the dude 51 weekends out of the year, but there’s no one I’d rather have to show up and represent the USA. Guy is an absolute bull dog that will fight for every single position

I posted it in another thread after high point, Tomac and Dungey on 450 with Sexton on a 250 would be my choice. Our team needs consistency, there aren't three more reliable guys right now.

This^^^^ The goal is to win. Not to ride around and make sure we don’t hurt any feelings.

The question is…. Can Gas Gas build that to 250 to handle the hell Barcia will put it through?

Tomac and Sexton on 450s put Dungey on a 250, he’ll have time to get used to it and it’s not like he’s worried about it getting in the way of supercross testing!

The fact that there are over a dozen guys on factory 250's and none of them is an instant choice , shows where the current 250 guys are at.

Can any of the older dudes here enlighten us on what the deal with Hannah dropping down to 125 for the 87 Unadilla MXDN was? Was there no one in the 125 class capable? Did he pull rank because he wanted to do it? Always been curious on that one.

It was a popularity contest.

Hannah loved racing that track and the Hill People absolutely loved Hannah back. It had been years since he had even ridden a 125 (I believe he had "76 125 CHAMP" on his butt patch) but we were so confident back then, I guess we figured we could just send anybody.

Micky Dymond really should have been there on the 125. He was the two-time and defending Champ and he got passed over the year before for O'Mara.

I was there that day, regardless, and it was effing magical.
