I am looking forward to it as much as anyone but all of the hype that is going on about Tomac vs Herlings is going to be ruined by Barcia this weekend.

It would be awesome to see the consensus two best riders in the world go at it hammer and tong but I think that Barcia is going to be the spoiler and will be the top overall racer. Open and MXGP will be the final race and will have the three of those guys along with a motivated Roczen that would love to wax Herlings in it.

After being at the MXGP in Jacksonville last year and watching Barcia riding with no confidence and looking like he was done it will complete his comeback story.

Not a Barcia fanboy because I'm a grown ass man after all, just a feeling I get from listening to him and the way he finished the season (even though Tomac was in safe mode) plus the fact that Barcia has won Red Bud before and is a good mudder if it rains.

He could very well do this, but IDK. Imagine the chatter if he does?

I was thinking on my drive home last night "Is everyone forgetting Cairoli?" He is there as well and although he hasn't been exactly on Herlings heels he could do well if Herlings gets a bad start. Barcia could also very well take a W as he usually does great at Red Bud.

He seems to be the forgotten man, maybe he will surprise us.

Antonio Cairoli had a fairly big crash at last weekend's GP, he wasn't able to line up for either moto after what happened in the qualifying race.

Will never forget Barcia's red bud performance in 2015 to beat Dungey. He was hanging off the end of that bike and had it bouncing all over the place. Some of the craziest and fastest riding I've ever seen in my life.

Such a weird crash, didn't look too violent but landing on concrete at high speed is not fun for sure.

Barcia is my favorite rider if I have to pick...this would be rad but I don't see it happening.

Barcia always "shows up" for MXDN. He also has done very well at Redbud in the past. I would expect him to run in the top 5.

I think of Cairoli like Stanton in 1993, still one of the baddest dudes on the planet but he knew that he had passed the torch to the younger guy.

That is exactly why I was thinking that he could smoke everyone. He was at the height of his confidence which he seems to be right now.

Thought when I read the thread title that Barcia had said 'stuff it, I am not racing, can't be bothered' for a second! hahah, that would surely ruin it!
Going to be great hopefully!

Lmao you guys, you really think BamBam will suddenly beat the 2 fastest guys in this sport right now? And then someone mentioned Cairoli? Come on, he has had nothing for Herlings the past months. Smh, can't wait to see what happens tho. But Herlings is in good shape, unless he makes a mistake or unless it's going to be a mud fest, I think it will be very hard to beat him.

Guess Barcia could surprise and even a few others could also- possibly last year Anstie wasn't expected to win when he did.
How about Gajser also- not heard much talk about him and got to be highly capable if the stars align?

Tim Gajser won't be in attendance as Slovenia isn't able to send a team this year.

Wow thats a great shame, Sad what were the reasons? Cash or something? Pity, as he would surely have mixed it up with the top runners you would have thought and made things even more exciting.

I think Barcia could win the MX2/Open moto but he's not beating Herlings in my opinion. Not exactly going out on a limb here but I think Herlings goes 1-1 pretty easily. I doubt Tomac gets good enough starts to even think about challenging him.

yeah if you look at open class , its Coldenhoff , Van Hoorebeek, Seewer etc guys who usuallu end up top 5 to top 10 at MXGP this season . with the race at RedBud Barcia should win this one .

dont know how he ends up when he races the MXGP class , as he has to face Tomac,Herlings and Roczen and Cairoli
would surprise me if he ends up top 3

And there's this guy named Roczen who is not too bad. I think he's the potential spoiler.
