Overall results in motocross are based on points earned, not directly on the moto finish position.

Marvin: 25 + 20 = 45

Eli: 14 + 25 = 39

Zach: 16 + 22 = 38

Jason: 20 + 18 = 38


The higher 2nd moto score breaks the tie between Osborne and Anderson.

The only thing that matters is points. Which is why it’s scored the way it is. Realistically the “overall” doesn’t mean much. If Eli goes 1-2 and Ken goes 2-1 in every race here on out Eli would still win the title and Ken would win a whole bunch of overalls.

I don't mind the current scoring system except I think if you win the overall you should get rewarded for winning the overall with an additional point...otherwise motocross is just a double-header.

I wouldn’t be opposed to that idea. But you’re right, mx is essentially a double header.
