Axo..... One of the best dogs ever.


In 1992 I asked my wife for a pair of Axo Turbo RC boots for Christmas. She told me she had to go out to the car and get my gift and blindfolded me. I opened my eyes to a Golden Retriever puppy on my lap. I took one look at her and said: "Your name is Axo." At the time I wasn't thrilled about getting a dog instead of boots but that was a damn good dog. She made it 15 years and I doubt those boots would have lasted anywhere near that long.

Yeah, you can't just look backwards... then it's just novelty for one year. You need something new too, which was completely missing for JT's "comeback". Anything new they did was just terrible. Better designers could have made a real impact.

Wow, I thought they were done and dusted. I'll always have a soft spot for AXO since I first got into moto in '91/'92. Hope they keep building.

I had an AXO carbon-fiber helmet back in mid nineties. It didn't fit great, but it was the sht otherwise.

Chest protector hangs in my shop just to look at 90s were the best!! Still have the straps to take the back off the chest protector.

thats cool that they are still around but that gear looks like shit. cant even read the logo on half of that gear

I wore one pair of AXO boots for over 25 years.  One resole. Original buckles lasted the entire 25+ years.

That's surprising and impressive. I remember my dad ripping through his AXO soles every 5-8 rides. Then when the Prime boots came out I destroyed the soles ever 1-2 rides. They always swapped them under warranty, but it got frustrating after the 4th pair.

That's surprising and impressive. I remember my dad ripping through his AXO soles every 5-8 rides. Then when the Prime boots came out I destroyed the soles ever 1-2 rides. They always swapped them under warranty, but it got frustrating after the 4th pair.

 

The soles are the one part that failed fairly quickly. I replaced them with SIDI soles, and they lasted forever.

That makes more sense! I always loved the look of the RC6's as a kid. Miss having AXO here in the states. I was always one of the few kids wearing it and loved everyone over at AXO.
