Hi guys,

did I miss something or axosport no longer exists?

I remember factory suzuki wore their gear in 2017 or 2018 with Jasikonis and Strijbos in MXGP.

Aren't they still selling products in Europe? For some reason I swear they only closed shop in the US.

I think a few of us wish they had taken a more aggressive approach to retro, where they started and were the most successful.

As far as I know, she shut everything down worldwide. She didn't care about moto at all. She got a business degree and her dad bought the company for her so she could run it after graduating.

Dang, bummer man. I know they fizzled down about 20 years ago and have been slow in the US, but still, that is the end of a legacy Sad I am glad I bought a bunch of stuff on closeout while I could.

We were support riders for them when they went out. I was told just in the US but that may have changed. It was pretty crappy how they kinda did it all. Liked the gear but the last few years it started to look pretty awful with the designs.

All I know is they’re fuckin up. If they pulled their head out of their ass and remade and released the early 90’s color ways they would sell out no doubt.

Their gear wears like iron. I have a circa 2010 set of AXO gear and it has hundreds of hours through Texas mesquite trees and still looks great. What is the story about the girl? Is it the daughter of the Italian dude who bought the company from Jim Hale (RIP) or what?

They just missed the boat, coulda used their retro designs to introduce a new lineup, but the gear biz is saturated. Who knows. For sure the company was never the same after Jim left; you can see where the designs start going downhill.

Was it for sale? Its still a huge brand name to a lot of people, dunno how a company like Fox wouldnt pick it up, with some very good designers behind it i wouldnt see how it couldnt take off again ( a Bradshaw replica out of the gate wouldnt hurt either)

That stuff definitely lasted longer than any other gear we’ve ever worn. Kenny Safford had some really awesome designs for them too.

And yes, it was the daughter of the Italian guy that bought it. He bought it for her specifically. Let’s just say she was not very well liked.

Such a bummer...

With the rise of the oldschool motocross now, they were able to relaunch their business

Bump.

Anything new on whether AXO still exists, even over in Italy?

Couldn't help noticing that Cairoli was in a Thor commercial during the last moto broadcast.

I Liked my AXO boots.

Enough cash and you too could own the AXO brand and start production.

Without a doubt early 90's AXO SPORT was an iconic look. Bradshaw and Stanton early 90's AXO some of my all time favorite gear. The font/style AXO would use on their sponsored riders name/number was so unique and cool.

Bradshaw 1992 Hangtown Jersey

Stanton 1994 Jersey (AXO dealer display issue)

The gear was good. She didn't know what she was doing. She was adamant that top level riders only needed one pair of boots for the year.

I was an AXO support rider from about 2010-2016ish, their gear was some of the most well made I've ever worn.
Pulled these out a couple years ago.

Same here, I have a closet full of gear sets from 2014-15. Very well made stuff and comfortable. I wish they’d proceeded to do more of their 90’s stuff, it likely would have been a huge success but they had other ideas.

I used to wear Sinisalo back in the 90’s which was really top notch stuff too, they’re also gone now as far as I can tell. Going retro might have saved them, too, but their designs just got worse and worse over the years.

How'd that work out for JT? Might work for a few years, then the retro novelty wears off and that stuff stops selling.

Good point. They made some nice looking stuff too but it never seemed to catch on.

AXO’s heyday was a decade later than JT’s, probably a lot more guys from that era still riding and racing. Maybe it would have been more successful, hard to say.

The AXO stuff did too, I have a few sets of it. Good idea, but poor half assed execution. It could have looked really good.
