Will Reed be on it or even want to be on it this year?

If not, who is in the running to represent them this year?

At the moment I would say it is hard to go past a Metty, Waters, Ferris (MX2) line up.

Gibbs would be unlucky to miss out again.

Mellross 15-15 for 12th overall in the 250 class at Muddy Creek today is quickly on the rise. Talented hard working young rider.

Waiting for mellross to get his ass in gear, had been getting beaten j.Richardson, was bit surprising to me.

What if ward won all the remaining nationals? Surely he has a chance at the mx2 postion? I cant see metty racing it as it will probably cost him money again. Other wise i think Waters/Ferris and melross.

Def Reed out he's having to much drama on and off the track this year and his results are proof. last year he pissed on the flag by taking a fucking vacation right before the MXdN and his results proved it. Whilst everyone was out training in there team colours Reed was flat tracking with Rossi.

i think the step from this side of the world to europe is pretty big now, its been a while since anyone has gone very good at the des nations after racing in NZ/AU all year, Ferris would be the best bet, esp as he would have access to a very good bike,

I reckon Waters & Gibbs on 450, Ferris on 250

I think reeds time is done, even if we give him a spot this year, it will most likely be his last outdoors season. Same with metty, this isn't early 2000's anymore

Time for fresh blood and to start building our future teams, but I also think our speed at mx nationals isn't good enough considering BT just come out of retirement and won a round. Give it to our best mx2 guy at home (clout) unless it's sand then ward would be obvious pick. Then ferris and watters in other spots.

Plus I think majority of our 250 picks would be similar speed Melrose/Richardson/our home riders. So why would you pick a privateer over a supported rider

I don't know. Right now he's not riding well enough. Not sure what's up with his DNF this week and his ride last week. Since Ferris and Waters is already in Europe it's an easy decission to send them. Either way, Australia doesn't have winning team right now. Plenty of fast riders but no one for a podium threat. Not sure what's up with the Moss brothers. They're fast. Metty is also fast but as someone else said, if he has to cover his own expenses he wont go. Bottom line, if Reed is willing to go and back to speed at the end of this series I personally send him, Waters and Ferris.

If anyone has not seen it take a look at the track. its all crazy downhill straits and spooky TIGHT up hill climbs sandy hard pack clay type big ruts gonna be forming type stuff. this track is a spooky hand full and too tech. for anybody but our current best inform pilots.

ferris and waters are acclimatised and already race around the place on this type of track with 75% of the opposition. gibbs just won the manjimup 15,000 again today, he has proved he can handle a one off event/show weekend series and get reaults,. southern cross king, queensland, race cups etc. All 3 are mates and can fight for it no prob when it comes to racing/training to win.

this would be our best chance for a podium.
they can draw straws for the 250 or better still put the lightest of them on it.

Unfortunately I have to agree with this, Reed should never have taken the position on the team if he didn't give a shit about it. He himself admitted he did no training leading up to it. I wasn't to impressed when I heard him say that.

Waters looks pretty good stylewise imo. I hope he can find some more speed soon

With massive pockets!

Sorry that's the Aussie tall poppy syndrome. I still cheer for him

Metty, ferris , waters. Could podium if Ferris keeps going.

Reeds too hot/cold/old

Metty is still fast. Metty waters ferris

Metty, Ferris and Waters seems like the logical choice right now.

I dont see a problem, if that team cant go for whatever reason, in sending a locally based young team to get some experience on the world stage. Worked for Reed, Byrne and Mcfarlane all those years ago.

Maybe some young fast kid like Jed Beaton or Jay Wilson/Luke Clout on the 250F, throw Kirk Gibbs and Luke Styke out there aswell because they'll have good bikes. Top 10 with that team would be a massive achievement and a step in the right direction for the new generation.

Matt Moss got injured at the start of the Nationals this year and haven't seen or heard much about him riding lately.

I don't have a dog in this race...but if the track is that gnarly & technical, even though Reed isn't riding up to par here right now...I'd be hard pressed not to pick him any way. He's got the sheer experience & skill to handle that.
