Now called SX open. Seems pretty cool having a 2nd leg in NZ now. Is this the first steps for the FIM to go global instead of just based in the US ?

FIM is global and based in Geneva, Switzerland, the AMA is their USA federation , MA is the Australian federation

they have had FIM Oceania Motocross champs for over 20 years, and also in Road Racing, Supermoto and Trails, pretty sure this is the first time they have ran the SX oceania champs

With SX coming to Japan who knows maybe there will one day be a world Supercross championship. The thing is Japan, Australia, US, France thats ACTUALLY a WORLD championship and logistics on that would be absoluuuutely nuts. The MX world championship is basically Europe which is pretty much the same as going around the US as far as logistics, passports, customs, because of the EU, then with a race in the US and one in South America. Having an SX world championship that goes USA, Canada, Mexico, France, England, Australia, New Zealand, Japan would be insane. Cool though,

back in the 1990's, there was the pan pacific supercross series, that went through asia, nz aussie and even Hawaii,

Eddie Warren won it won year, and then Andrew Hardisty won it when it was on 125's in 1995 , pretty sure that was under FIM as well,

Totally unrelated but, this sent me on a mad search for this dude... Used to watch the races on ESPN back in the early 2000's.
