Check your wifi plug, make sure it’s router around the subframe. I got this info straight from Travis Preston after my wifi stopped working. Dealer installed it wrong. I found another thread with same symptoms, same exact wire.

So is it supposed to be in front of the subframe or behind it?

I would call it outside of subframe.

In your pic it looks like the wires are fixed and now inside of the subframe. ?? so is that the correct way? ————Edit—-I looked a little closer and see wire is still broke. So this pic is wrong routing. Should go around outside of frame I assume.

If you look closely my wire is broken. It was routed behind or inside the subframe, which per TP is incorrect. It should be routed out around the subframe. Taking my connector to a buddy to see if he can fix it before I order a new one.

You should be able to pop the wire out of the connector with a small pick and then that wire could be soldered back together nicely.

I will have to check the routing on mine.

I got my '21 in a box and the owners manual wants to route it behind the subframe. Tried it and didn't like it. Way too tight an pressure on the cable. Routed it in front of the subframe (aka the Preston way). Way better.

I bet 'the dealer' had nothing to do with it.
Considering they put a 14-17 front number plate on my 18 causing my number background not to fit, I don’t doubt the dealer had everything to do with it. Poor guy at factory effex sorted me out after I wrote a shitty email about the fit.

Side note, local auto electric shop owner is a friend, hooked me right up. Not like the bike has a ton of hours either.

You don't use the app to clear your service intervals then?

I don't have a motocicle with wifi, but I work on machines daily, and wiring configurations is a deal.

Check everything because tension and friction are both bad.

You mean you didn’t replace your piston at 12.5 hours?

Hahaha im sure you would need to change the piston at 12.5 hours when you run the oil for 7.5 hours lmfao wtf
I change that shit every ride because I dont believe .75-.8 Liters of oil is enough to last that long. My Honda went much longer on oil before it even changed color

That’s crazy...the oil filter and the piston need to be replaced at the same intervals...lol

Have you’ve ever built a new bike from the crate?
The dealers are messing around with wiring looms and plugs I can assure you.
Front wheel
Front fender
Handlebars & front plate.
Fill with oil... GO!

So yeah, your dealer may well have picked up the wrong front plate, but they didn’t fit your wiring loom.

Weirdly, my friend has just bought a brand new 2020 YZ250 two stroke which appears to have the incorrect front plate fitted.

The last two 250Fs (19/21) I purchased both CCUs were not installed which I can see being a problem if you didn't know what you were doing. Gave me a box and said thanks. Lol

Yep. Built a couple two tree of these in my day, you’re definitely plugging that little sucker in when it comes off the crate. I will say though, almost certainly the guy building it can’t/didn’t read the wiring diagram and just slapped it in

The dealer did nothing wrong. The owners manual is pretty clear at this point. 🤷🏻‍♂️

If everything is where it should be, and wires are the correct length, that certainly looks like a cleaner, safer installation.

I’m just going off what the factory test rider pointed me to without seeing my bike. Can’t be coincidence another thread was made with the same exact issue, same exact wire. So it’s an issue regardless if the manual is correct or not. I’m not on here to bash dealers, hopefully just saving someone the issue I had.
