I would like to thank FELD for putting on the Am day! It was a blast! Pulling into the pits and getting to pit where the pros where just 12hrs earlier was cool. The FELD staff was on point, races where ran like clock work! Some of the staff for the stadium left a little to be desired BUT the only real complaint I could have is the distance between the pits and the stadium! I am a big man and it was a little tough. I felt bad for the parents with multiple kids in multiple races. I kept meeting the same two moms and they would say "my legs are so sore." I guess there is nothing they could do about it so just remember that if you go next year, wear your sneakers lol!

Here is a pic of my son during practice. We bought the picture package from the business in the pits!

Nice pic. He looks a lot like my son, how old is he? And how did he finish? Probably classified as a “C” rider but rides like a “B” Rider LOL

My guess is the Amateur racing will stick around. Feld has to be making a fortune on this. I have not looked into it and dont't know what there charging per class . Good to see everyone is enjoying the AM SX races.

There are a bunch of folks who work through many challenges to get 700+ riders registered, transpondered and on the track.
Not one of them mails it in.
I am sure your positive feedback means a lot to each of them if they see this.

Yes he rode 250C and Open C. He qualified straight out of the heats into the mains. He got out good in the 1st main and was in 6th but after the finish line jump the 5th place rider fell in the rut and my son got tangled in it. We called it a day and didn't run the open class!
I know what you mean about the "B" thing but we are still chasing the LL dream so C for another year. This is just his 4th full year of racing. He is 18! This last fall he got second overall for the season in the combined B/C type class designated "Intermediate!"

I agree, not one event employee was anything but 100% professional! Please send my teams thanks, as we all had a ball!!!

Thank you for the kind words. We try our best. We also never try to always have fair prices at all our events, knowing how much everyone has already spent to race, last thing you need is to be ripped off on photos after a sweet day of racing.

Posters are printing as we speak.

I'm going to have to try one of these again. Just found an old photo from Pontiac when I did it there back in the day. Hopefully they add some more next year that are closer to home. Pushing the bike from the pits to the track would have killed the fun of it for me.

What track changes did they make?
Turned the 1st 2 sections after the start into 2-2.
Turned the whoops into 2-2-2 with the A guys tripling the middle.
Softened up the long rythem lane and tapered the 2nd table so the fast guys could jump from the 1st table and basiclly land anywhere safely.
Turned the triple into a double,
shortened up the finish by pushing the top back towards the take off.
Dirt guys did a great job, in my opinion, to give all the riders a fun safe track.

Everything was tamed down. The whoops were made into a series of rollers, the section after was changed too two small tables. The faster B riders and up would double both, then the triple was a decent double and the finish jump tamed down pretty good. It flowed really well though!

Here is a video of his first lap!

WOW! Thanks for posting that.

I left slowly from the SX race. They were cutting it down a few minutes after the race.

Did you notice a 243 on a Husky? How did he look? Local WI kid that is taking a spring break and doing a couple of the am SX races, sounds like he's riding well, hope he can get some support, hard that he only gets to ride 8-9 months out of the year...

Sweet! We ran a few of those back in the day (Astrodome, Superdome, Texas Stadium, and Cotton Bowl) and it was always a good time. A few races, they didn't even touch the track after the pro's finished with it....which was cool because you could compare your lap times.

I thought it was about $100. I want to do it next year after seeing what they do with the tracks.

Glad you guys had an awesome day, always good to read about people having a good time! I really wish they would leave the tracks more technical, I waited it out this year to see if they left the tracks difficult or not, and I was kind of disappointed to see how tamed down they are. After seeing a lot of pictures though and reading how fun everyone says they've been it seems like an awesome time anyways though, hopefully they do more rounds next year.

Carter went 1 - 1 - 2 in his mains. Really riding well right now.
