I've obviously have spun a few laps on the 2019 KTM/Husqvarna 450 so I wanted to share with you my personal experience on how I got it to run like it should.

I just posted a story on my site My Two Wheel Life with full details on how you can make that bad ass bike feel lighter and be more responsive.

Thanks for the update Mike. Did you open up the airbox as well?

No problem and No I left the air box with no holes, and it ran on pump fuel

I've reset the throttle position sensor to .68. was a big improvement, but i think this is what I've been looking for. I'm going to try it!

I have the 18.5 FE (same bike).

The only problem was a blown shock seal at 3 hrs. 40 hrs now on bike.

Suspension was revalved for off-road and some odds and ends done to the forks and shock by Factory Connection to improve slow-speed plushness.

Have the Vortex ECU. TPS is set at .64.

I'm 61 yrs old and it a very easy bike to ride. Power is very mellow or fast. Great motor. Glad I got the 450 because I can ride in the desert in the upper gears and just idle along. The engine never works so I should have good wear and this thing runs VERY cool. Must be the new cooling system. Never once lost coolant and I have rode in 100's.

Airbox...I didn't cut holes in mine but just cut out that tab right inside the filter access cover. I also run a pre-filer over my filter. Have the screenless filter cage by Twin air.

So far so good and love the bike. The only thing I would change is the forks to spring but that's being picky. I just loved my old 450 Yamaha forks and still have one.

Blaze 57 your bike sounds unreal! You have done a great job setting it up. The air fork isn’t bad but you are right the KYB Yamaha is the best production fork ever. I have tried that fork on a ktm and the chromoly chassis makes it feel a little different then the aluminum Yamaha chassis.

Great write up on the new settings. Crazy how testing the bikes and the final setting can be so far off.

I’m a + 1 on Twisted. For my 350sxf Jamie was able to map the Vortex so I have 3 map options using the stock handlebar map switch. Pretty cool trying different settings with a flip of a button.

I have the full Yosh system, 2 stroke cage and opened the air box a bit.

The only adjustment I’m still working on the very top end gets a bit flat feeling,

How do you keep the filters clean with the modded boxes? Our 18.5 FE is stock and one moto and the filter is nasty. I can't imagine how bad it be if I opened the cover up like above.

How are you liking the new 350 so far? Compared with your modded 250? Bike is looking awesome!

I use the PC Racing filter skins. Part number 1445290003 (size large) works best for the Husky/KTM. https://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/p/734/42422/PC-Racing-Filter-Skins

I really like the 350. The biggest thing to adapt to is the weight of the engine. I have to say the mapping really did help that. The 19 is much thinner then the 16-18 bike also.

More bottom and mid then my 250SXF, but less over rev. More power then I need and I can run on pump gas. I’m hoping to run the engine for 100 hours, on the 250 I was doing pistons at 40 hours.
