Men taking women's jobs......It's like we reversed decades of progress. So much for empowering women. Oh well, doesn't have an impact on me one way or another.

I would trade all of the Monster girls to have Kristen Beat on the SX broadcast. That woman is well spoken, has knowledge of motorsports and does a great job on the AX broadcasts! Plus she is gorgeous!!
I would be bummed though if they get rid of the Lucas Oil girls at the nationals, Carrie and Nicole are beautiful, they seem pretty classy compared to the monster slits.

You creeps are still going on about this? Jesus Christ if you want to see pictures of titties, try Redtube.com if you want to see real titties try the Sandy Clam down by the airport.
Leave the racing for the rest of us that watch racing for the racing. If the grid girls show up, fine. If they don't, they don't. No fucking difference. I'm sure they're all so devastated that they'll have to find another place to pretend to act interested in drunk douchebags that hit on them. What a shame.
It's a free market, if these organizations wanted to continue to employ grid girls in face of pressure to exclude them, they could. But they don't, and that's their business decision. God forbid they try to appeal to demographics other than the 18-45 white male! Blasphemy!

Yea, apparently some are pretty pissed...

(Grid Girl) Lucy Stokes posted to Twitter saying, “I love my job. I’m respected, paid well & proud to represent the team I’m working for. It’s not right for anyone, let alone ‘feminists’ to judge our job when quite frankly they are putting so many women out of work. Where is the equality & empowerment here?”'

For the Nth time; assuming someone against eliminating these jobs due to political pressure is a drunk douchebag is naive to say the least. Not everyone has the same opinion on things, and that's OK. But attacking them for it isn't.

You're the only one with a differing opinion that seems to capable of explaining your point beyond "I LIKE BOOBIES AND HATE FAT CHICKS, THIS IS BULLSHIT". So i can appreciate that.

Maybe I should clarify. I'm not overly bothered by grid girls being a part of F1 or Monster girls being a part of SX. I wouldn't personally employ them if I were running the show, but I'm not and I generally don't give a fuck. What really does bother me as how dudes act in their presence. The overwhelming majority of guys I see harassing the promo girls would have no business talking to said girls the way they do in any other setting. Yet once they're paid to parade themselves around like mannequins, guys suddenly find themselves talking down and acting very inappropriately. It's creepy and weird. When some 55 year old guy is zooming in on his digital camera and snapping pics of promo girls all event long, it's weird and inappropriate. Bottom line. That's not every guy, but the ones that do ruin it.

Having a wife that races, am I upset at the prospect of women being represented differently in Motorsports? Absolutely not. It makes her feel better and more valued, so I'm all for it. Was I calling for the removal of gird/promo girls? Nope. I didn't even think twice about em. But I also wasn't calling for Trump's tax plan, yet here I am, living my life accordingly.

I could understand if some of the reactions were "damn that sucks, I'll miss them" or "well I don't necessarily agree with it but it doesn't really have a meaningful impact". But instead it's (tiki)torches and pitch forks. That is ridiculous, in my opinion. It's not like they took 2 strokes away or anything.

About 6 months ago I had to let a longtime employee go who stepped way out of bounds with another younger female employee. She brought none of this on herself, except for the fact that she was attractive. Was she a prude, thin skinned, snowflake...hell no, just someone who had treatment that was completely uncalled for. He is what I'll call "old school" and was in his 60's. He thought that this type of behavior was ok, and always has been...he was gravely mistaken. The Hollywood, media and business harassment that has gone on at the expense of women has given me a much different perspective of women in general, but also how completely ridiculous men act. Much to the point of JW381.

Which brings me to another point, most cultures have evolved in the treatment of women over time, and while everyone has the right to look at them however they want, I don't really believe the SJW's, feminist or any specific group are driving this...maybe it's just time to look at things differently.

Hell, women couldn't even vote until 1920, and in some states black women couldn't vote until 1965. Granted we're not talking about women's suffrage here, but their treatment has changed over time as it should have.

Welcome to 2018 and beyond...at least they haven't taken your topless bars and porn sites away.

All decent points. And there definitely are some guys that act like jackasses around them, and likely pissed about their removal for the wrong reasons.

Looks to me like everyone is looking at and pointing their cell phones at the guys on the podium.
Sure aren’t behaving like the supposed 55 year olds one poster here seems to be preoccupied with.

If I was Joe Gibbs, I'd get the football team cheerleaders from the SX Stop town to come cheer my riders at every SX.
Or any team for that matter. Not sure how many would actually be watching the races though.

" It's a shame they may have to use their brains to make a living" ?
Like I said, most of the people in this thread that are against this move and support these women and there jobs, also have more respect for them. Brownstone suggests that we are fucking pigs and white male supremasists. Yet I believe she refered to the Monster Girls in another post as trashy Ilk.

Anyway, it's been said a hundred times, the issue for most isn't that there won't be pretty girls to see at the races, it's why these positions are being eliminated. It sure isn't race fans that buy tickets that are pushing it. And the idea that it's about society evolving to some better place morally is stupid.

Apologies if this has been posted, but this series of lawsuits and its press seems germane to the discussion.

It's an interesting question: Monster dumps tons of money into SX, but maybe they prevent the elusive mainstream sponsors from coming into the sport at the same time. It's been interesting to see NASCAR cover up and tone down their Monster girls, and I'll bet there were some serious negotiations about what they'd wear.

I am all for boobies, but I am fine separating them from my SX. But, it must be a fine needle for Feld to thread between taking Monster $$$ and worrying that it prevents further/future $$$ from coming into the sport.

Times change. It's funny that Hannah had a trophy girl straddling his face back in the day. No sponsor would want to see their brand on his jersey in that picture today. You can't french trophy girls anymore.

Wow this whole thread should go into the "time capsule" of what happened to our society.

Social media has created such a fucked up sense of "self" that I just don't know what the current young generation will become. Socially awkward, and unable to communicate without electronic media I would guess.

Back in the mid to late 90's, my then GF and now wife used to be the "star" of commercials and billboards for a mid-level Vegas casino chain. Then, after our first daughter was born, she got into tech trade shows and was paid incredible money to be a "greeter" at booths for major computer companies at COMDEX and other tech related trade conventions.

She dressed professionally, was in a safe corporate environment, she did not know shit about computers. But she was attractive, smart, and friendly.

So they paid her thousands of dollars, plus flights, hotel, and expenses, to spend a weekend smiling and getting males to stop at their nerd booth. I was (and still am) proud of her for doing those trade shows, and every few years, as a joke, we make her watch the TV commercials we have on DVD of her Vegas days.

What normal male human would not prefer to "interact" with some random sales person who is "hot" versus just seeing some other male or less than "attractive" female?

Hard to understand why people can't just be ok with the fact that humans are humans. Does not make us beasts or freaks. No different than movies, food, scenery, or anything else. You would prefer to watch a good movie, not a shitty one. Eat good food, look at beautiful scenery. Why is it now so wrong to have an attractive female for corporate promotions (and vice versa)? Strange times.

I actually wished most of the guys in my high school were gay. Instead of beating them up like some dudes wanted to I would welcomed them. Way more pooter for me and my friends. The older I got the less I was concerned with gays and what they do... did. Logically my way of thinking is the best thinking of all, instead of judging and hating them. If there were a better ratio of girls to boy I probably would have gotten way more pooter... or at least some pooter, or one.

Pretty stupid if you ask me. They are good looking girls who are models trying to build their portfolios. That is how they conduct business. A lot of them have to do these types of events hoping to move up the chain or get "discovered."

It's probably a fun work atmosphere and most of them really seem to enjoy it. Anyone here who thinks they're not an attraction/fan favorite at an event is 100% wrong. These girls are approached and asked to take photographs with fans more than any of the 5th through non qualifying riders.
Bingo.

Real men, real boobs, and real racing. The good old days.
For folks that weren't around this is Linda Vaughn ( miss Hurst shifter ) the unofficial first lady of motor racing. She had looks, she had brains, was well respected as a brand ambassador and PR person for the corporations she worked for. She was a mentor to and looked out for the other young girls as well. Total class act. Sold more product then the best sales reps, and made a 50 year career that started same way as these other young women that some think don't use their brains and have no value to the industry.

Suddenly concerned? That implies I was previously unconcerned which isn't the case. What does their wages have to do with anything?
You on the other hand said it makes no fucking difference if they work, and that they dress like hookers for a cheap buck. Then make accusations out of thin air ( not anything I posted ) .
Who's being disengenuos ?
No matter. I think they add value to the sport and the economy and i give them credit and respect for the work they do. You don't have to.
