I totally agree. I definitely dont advocate using work boots or $99 thor boots or something. My main thing was $600 tech 10s arent really $400 better than a $200 boot. If tech 10s were $400-450 thats more reasonable. Theres actually a lot of smaller websites selling them for $370 even(just noticed that this morning). Thats a killer deal on those.
Rode and raced moto for 25 years before breaking an ankle. No crash involved. Guess what I was wearing? You can break an ankle in anything. Don't listen to these fools.

I endoed a fairly large jump last summer and hopped over the bars last second and landed feet first. Was wearing sg12s. My hip and knee were pretty jacked but my feet/ankles were 100% fine other than a stubbed toe. I really believe wearing a cheaper boot would have ruined my feet

I'm on the sg12 boat. they are holding up awesome too. lots of hrs over the yrs. I put them on a boot dryer after washing and a little wd on the screws and buckles.
I would like to see them make some more color options. not clown colors like others.

Cant bring myself to spend $600 on boots. I dont think tech 10s are $400 better than tech 1s.
At a 80/20 specialist co-pay you will get up that $400 in your first two visits to the ortho surgeon. Just sayin

That makes zero sense. Youre basically saying if you cant afford $2000 in gear then dont ride a motorcycle. No wonder nobody gets into the sport. For new riders or riders that arent above a c class level is it REALLY necessary to have $600 boots? No its not. A good set of $200/300 boots work just fine for a large portion of riders.

I feel a quality riding boot is the most important piece of riding gear you can have along with a good helmet. For new riders you can always find a nice set of used boots, that's what I did when I was starting to ride along with old used bikes. Don't have to pay full price for everything, where there is a will there's a way.

I think youre fartin around with two different ideas here. I agree that no kid starting out needs $600 boots. But there is a difference between a $200 boot and a $600 boot. You can take a tech 3 and fold it in half with ease, now take a tech 10 and see how hard it is to fold. Regardless, a hard enough fall will result in injury but a stronger ankle support will help. I wouldnt encourage a beginner to get exspensive boots until they start riding harder.

I wanted to buy the white/orange/blue(Indianapolis LE boot) Tech 10 LE boot from last year and it sold out in zero time, at least here in the Scandinavian countries.

But you have to remember that lots of the boots on Alpinestars site are old. I think you can find the Tomac replicas on the site but good luck with actually finding a set.

Edit: The Indianapolis boot is still on their site but it is sold out, same with the Tomac boots.

I’ve got a pair of these I’m willing to part with. What size are you?
