With the tracks all being shut since the start of the year due to our 3 months in lockdown, can’t wait to get out on the bike this week. Seems like a lifetime ago! Anyone else out riding?
All the tracks down south booked out within minutes
For adult groups got the 3rd parkgate
Then mildenhall the 8 th and 11 th
hope my boy can hold on after sitting playing games since November
Yeah everywhere will be rammed, especially in the week after when the kids are off. I’m racing on the 11th so need at least a day to run my bike in and shake of the thick layer of cobwebs on me to try and avoid dying on race day 😄
I am in SoCal, we have been lucky to ride thru it all or at least most. I feel for you guys not being able to get a moto in. Jump a plane and come to SoCal, many places and bikes to ride. Not to rub it in but I raced REM today getting ready for the 2 Stroke race next weekend and my son did laps on the main. Anyone into riding 96-97 CR125's or 250's? Enjoy the rides when you can.
I haven’t been to Mildenhall or Chippenham since I raced schoolboy so about 2001, are they both hardpack now then? The dirt used to be amazing at mildenhall.

You have to catch it between slop and dusty these days(wildtracks), Mildenhall had a major change few years back still same dirt
Fat cats race track is a lot harder surface than it used to be, and he practice track though is a whooped out rut fest that shows me every time how unfit I am 😄
Ellsworth was awesome, we used to go down that way for a week or 2 and ride Elsworth, wash brook farm, wildtracks and mildenhall. Shame it went away, the guy was so protective over his grass there!
Fatcats race track is almost hard pack now, not far off what the old Armthorpe site was, the practice track is the deeper sand of the 2.
Most people tend to like the race track more, good job they open it up to practice when there's no race meetings on. How do you keep a sand track deep, and not frighten the lesser riders away?
Rode there lots, remember going there with a 250 and a 500 and being in 9 out of 12 races, 3 moto's back to back 3 times was hard work, but far better than dicking about at a practice track.
Was decent once you got the jumps dialled in, especially the waves down the bottom, if you went for it you could roll the first small one and seat bounce through them on the inside, which was a guaranteed pass,
Awful in the wet , and fun when it was windy.
I rode The Cambridgeshire Grand National in 1995, was on the start between Mark Eastwood and Jokke Karlsson.. i was the only 4 stroke.. think i went 31-32 LOL.. never rode so hard to finish so low.
Place was always immaculate, grass cut and posts freshly painted , one of the few 'proper' tracks we got to race on in our centre, all the rest were farmland jobs.. sadly we have few of those now.

Green Lanes/Localriders
Pit Row
Now! Same with Mildenhall who puts a hard base under a sand track..
I have been there in 1986 when they split it 125/250/500 and there were 50 500's out there , from GP guys to clubmen.. .
It was great to ride, back then, last raced there in 2014 , but cant remember what on, think i borrowed a KX450.
I raced Fat Cats in 2016, and hated it, not that i expected to like it, its just ruts and more ruts.
